Get to Know AI Tracker
The AI Tracker is an accessory for intelligent subject tracking.
- Indicator Light: Shows the status of the AI Tracker.
- Camera: Captures the subject for tracking.
- Sleep/Wake Button: Press once to wake the AI Tracker from low power mode. Press and hold to enter sleep mode.
Battery and Charging
The SMOOTH 5S AI has a built-in battery. For first-time use, fully charge the battery to ensure optimal performance.
Charging Method: Use the provided USB Type-C cable to connect a USB charger (up to 14W PD) to the charging port. The indicator light will turn solid when charging is complete.

Mounting and Balancing
Mounting the Phone
- Unlock the tilt axis, roll axis, and pan axis, and expand the SMOOTH 5S AI.
- Mount the mobile phone onto the phone clamp. The phone can be mounted in portrait or landscape mode depending on the filming scenario.
⚠️ When mounting, please rotate in the correct direction as shown in the image to prevent damage to the lock pin.
Portrait Mode Installation: The phone is mounted vertically.
Landscape Mode Installation: The phone is mounted horizontally.
Instructions for Mounting:
- Rotate the phone clamp to switch between portrait and landscape modes. Ensure correct rotation direction.
- Note the installation direction of the phone cameras as shown in the image when mounting the phone.
- Ensure the mobile phone is firmly secured in the phone clamp.
- Before powering on the SMOOTH 5S AI, mount the mobile phone and balance the gimbal.
Installing the Fill Light
If you purchased the SMOOTH 5S AI Combo, it includes a magnetic fill light. Install it at the front or rear camera position for optimal lighting, ensuring a firm installation.
? You can change the fill light filter according to your filming needs. Avoid staring directly at the light when in use.
Balancing
Proper balancing is crucial for gimbal performance and battery life.
Mounting in Portrait Mode:
- Unlock the roll axis arm (①), push the arm left or right (②) until the phone is steady and level with the ground (③). Tighten the roll axis clamp knob (④).
- Move the mobile phone left or right (①) until it is steady and almost level with the ground (②).
Mounting in Landscape Mode:
- Unlock the roll axis arm (①), push the arm left or right (②) until the phone is steady and almost level with the ground (③). Tighten the roll axis clamp knob (④).
- Move the phone clamp forward or backward (①) until the phone is steady and almost level with the ground (②).
Note: The balance state affects gimbal runtime. While the gimbal can function when unbalanced, it will consume more battery and reduce motor strength.
How to Use the Gimbal
Buttons/Indicator Lights/Ports Introduction
- Focus/Zoom Control Wheel: Rotate to control focus/zoom in the StaCam app or zoom in the ZY Cami app.
- Focus/Zoom Switch: Single press to switch between focus and zoom in the StaCam app.
- MENU Button: Single press to enter the SMART menu in ZY Cami app or return to the shooting interface from the settings menu. Press to return to the filming interface in StaCam app.
- Joystick: Push up/down/left/right to control the gimbal's rotation.
- Gimbal Mode/Battery Level/Status Indicator Light:
- Gimbal Mode: Indicator light stays on to show the current mode. (F light flashes for Go mode).
- Battery Level: Single press the power button when powered on. A flashing red PF light indicates low battery.
- One flashing white light: 0-20% battery
- Two flashing white lights: 20-40%
- Three flashing white lights: 40-60%
- Four flashing white lights: 60-80%
- Five flashing white lights: 80-100%
- Status:
- Five slow flashing lights: Standby mode.
- Five quick flashing lights: Upgrade failure.
- Five lights flashing sequentially from left to right: Upgrade in progress.
- Resolution Selection Button: Single press to enter the resolution adjustment interface in ZY Cami/StaCam app.
- Adjustment Wheel: Rotate in menus within ZY Cami/StaCam app to select parameters or functions.
- Fill Light Button:
- Single press: Confirm in ZY Cami/StaCam app menus.
- Double press: Start filming in the chosen mode in ZY Cami/StaCam app.
- Press and hold: Power on/off the magnetic fill light. Rotate the adjustment wheel to control brightness when powered on.
