ZHIYUN SMOOTH-Q4 Quick Start Guide

1. Getting Started

To get the most out of your SMOOTH-Q4, download the dedicated "ZY Cami" app.

Download Options:

• Available on Google Play

Search for "ZY Cami" to download the app.

2. Getting to Know SMOOTH-Q4

Familiarize yourself with the components of your SMOOTH-Q4 gimbal:

3. Charging

To charge the SMOOTH-Q4, connect the provided USB Type-C cable to a USB charger (5V/2A recommended) and the Type-C port on the gimbal. Four indicator lights on the gimbal will illuminate green when charging is complete.

4. Installation

Step 1: Expand the Gimbal

Unlock the tilt axis, pan axis, and the phone clamp. Please rotate in the correct direction shown in the diagrams to prevent the lock clip from damaging.

Step 2: Install the Smartphone

Place your smartphone into the phone clamp. Secure it by engaging the clamp lock clip.

Magnetic Fill Light Placement

The magnetic fill light, included in the SMOOTH-Q4 COMBO package, can be attached to the front or rear of the camera on your smartphone, depending on your filming needs.

5. Balancing

Proper balancing ensures smooth gimbal operation.

• Landscape Mode: Adjust the phone's position horizontally (left or right) until it is steady and appears level with the ground.
• Portrait Mode: Move the phone clamp horizontally (left or right) until the phone is steady and appears level with the ground.

6. Button Description

Familiarize yourself with the functions of each button:

• Power Button: Single press to check gimbal battery level. Long press to power on/off. Press eight times to reset Bluetooth.
• Photo/Video Button: Single press to take a photo or start/stop video recording. Double press to switch between photo and video modes. Triple press to switch between front and rear cameras. Long press to take multiple photos.
• MODE Button: Single press to switch gimbal modes. Double press to return to the previous mode. Long press to enter/exit standby mode.
• Trigger Button: Single press to enable/disable SmartFollow. Double press to reposition the gimbal. Triple press to switch between landscape and portrait modes. Long press to enter Go mode.
• Gimbal Mode/Battery Level Indicator Lights: These lights display the current gimbal mode and battery level.
• Joystick: Push the joystick up/down or left/right to control the gimbal's rotation.
• Control Wheel: Single press to adjust the brightness of the magnetic fill light. Long press to turn the magnetic fill light on or off. Slide up/down to adjust the focal length.
• Type-C Charging/Firmware Upgrade Port: Use this port to charge the gimbal or connect it to a computer for firmware upgrades.

Note: Some button functions are only available when the smartphone is connected to the gimbal and the "ZY Cami" app is in use.

The gimbal supports Landscape Mode, Portrait Mode, and Extension Mode.

7. Connect to “ZY Cami” App

1. Power on the SMOOTH-Q4 and enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
2. Launch the "ZY Cami" app. Tap the camera icon in the upper left corner of the home screen to open the device list.
3. Select your SMOOTH-Q4 device from the list (the Bluetooth name can be found on the axis arm USER ID).
4. Activation via the "ZY Cami" app is required for the first-time connection. An internet connection is necessary for activation.

After successful activation, you can enter the camera interface of the ZY Cami App. The app offers advanced features such as SmartFollow, gesture control, and timelapse. Please note that the app is subject to updates without notice; always refer to the latest version.

8. Packing

Fold the SMOOTH-Q4 gimbal as shown in the diagrams and place it into its designated packaging for storage or transport.

Safe Operation Guidelines

WARNING:

1. Keep the product away from liquids. Never immerse it in water or expose it to rain or humid environments. Liquid contact can cause corrosion, potentially leading to battery ignition or explosion.
2. In case of fire, use water or water mist, sand, a fire blanket, dry powder, or carbon dioxide extinguisher. Choose the appropriate method based on the situation.
3. Operate the product within a temperature range of -10°C to 45°C.
4. Do not disassemble the product. Piercing the battery during disassembly can cause electrolyte leakage, leading to fire or explosion.
5. Avoid mechanical impact, rolling, or throwing the product. Do not place heavy objects on it.
6. Do not heat the product or place it in a microwave oven or pressure cooker.
7. Keep the product away from heat sources (stoves, heaters) or inside vehicles in hot weather. Store it in an environment between 22°C and 28°C; do not store above 45°C.
8. Do not store the battery in a fully discharged state for extended periods, as this can damage the battery cell and render it unusable.

Be Careful:

• The SMOOTH-Q4 is a high-precision device. Dropping or applying external force may cause damage and malfunction.
• Ensure gimbal axes are not obstructed by external force when the SMOOTH-Q4 is powered on.
• The SMOOTH-Q4 is not waterproof. Avoid contact with any liquids or cleaners. Cleaning with a dry cloth is recommended.
• Protect the SMOOTH-Q4 from dust and sand during use.

Caution:

• After charging, disconnect the product from the charger.
• If not using the product for over 10 days, charge/discharge the battery to 40%-65% for storage to extend battery life.
• Recharge and discharge the battery every 3 months to maintain its activity.
• Hold the handle steady when powering on the SMOOTH-Q4; shakiness during startup may prevent it from functioning correctly.

Warranty Period

Customers are entitled to replacement or free repair service for quality defects within 15 days of receipt. For products proven defective in material or workmanship under normal usage, ZHIYUN offers free repair service for 12 months from the date of sale. Warranty terms may vary by component and country. Contact ZHIYUN's after-sales service or your place of purchase for detailed information.

Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not cover products subjected to:

• Unauthorized repair, misuse, collision, neglect, mishandling, soaking, accidents, or alterations.
• Improper use, or altered/removed labels or security tags.
• Expired warranty periods.
• Damage due to force majeure (fire, flood, lightning, etc.).
