Radio Controls
The following lists the controls on the radio:
- 1. Channel Rocker: Selects channels.
- 2. On/Off/Information Button: Powers the radio on/off and provides information.
- 3. LED Indicator: Displays the radio's status.
- 4. Push-to-Talk (PTT) Button: Used for transmitting.
- 5. Volume Button: Adjusts audio volume.
- 6. Programmable Side Button 1: Customizable function button.
- 7. Display: Shows information and menus.
- 8. Microphone: Captures audio for transmission.
- 9. USB Connector: For charging or data connection.
- 10. Accessory Connector: For connecting external accessories.
- 11. Speaker: Outputs audio.
- 12. Antenna: Transmits and receives radio signals.
Attaching the Battery
NOTE: For optimal performance, charge a new battery 14 to 16 hours before initial use.
- Align the battery contacts with the contacts inside the battery compartment. Push the battery into place.
- Align the battery cover in place and slide the battery latch until it locks.
Attaching the Antenna
- Turn off the radio.
- Set the antenna in the receptacle and turn clockwise.
Basic Operations
Turning the Radio On and Off
Long press the On/Off/Information button.
Adjusting the Volume
Press the Volume Up or Volume Down button.
LED Indicators
Solid Red
Radio is charging.
Blinking Red
Radio has failed the self-test upon powering up, has moved out of range (if Auto-Range Transponder System is configured), is receiving an emergency transmission, is transmitting in low battery state, is encountering charging errors, or is indicating low battery capacity when the On/Off/Information button is pressed.
Solid Green
Radio is powering up, transmitting, indicating full battery capacity when the On/Off/Information button is pressed, or sending a Call Alert or an emergency transmission.
Blinking Green
Radio is receiving a call or data, turned on and idles, or detecting activity over the air.
Solid Yellow
Radio is monitoring a conventional channel or indicating fair battery capacity when the On/Off/Information button is pressed.
Blinking Yellow
Radio is scanning for activity or has yet to respond to a Call Alert.
Double Blinking Yellow
Radio is actively searching for a new site, is locked, or has yet to respond to a Group Call Alert.
