The following lists the numbered controls shown in the diagram:

  • 6. Battery Latch (at the bottom of the radio)
  • 7. Microphone
  • 8. Speaker
  • 9. LED Indicator
  • 10. On/Off/Volume knob
  • 11. Audio Jack with Dust Cover
  • 12. Micro USB with Dust Cover
  • 13. Charging Rail
  • 14. Charging Contacts
  • 15. Battery
  • 16. Belt Clip Slot
  • 17. Channel Selector knob

Attaching the Battery

NOTE: For optimal performance, charge a new battery 14 to 16 hours before initial use.

  1. Align the battery with the rails on the back of the radio.
  2. Slide the battery upwards until the latch snaps into place.
  3. Lock the battery latch.

Attaching the Antenna

  1. Turn off the radio.
  2. Set the antenna in the receptacle and turn clockwise.

Turning the Radio On and Off

Rotate the On/Off/Volume knob clockwise or counterclockwise until a click sounds.

Adjusting the Volume

Rotate the On/Off/Volume knob clockwise or counterclockwise.

LED Indicators

  • Blinking Red: Radio failed self-test, out of range (if Auto-Range Transponder System configured), receiving emergency transmission, or transmitting at low battery level.
  • Solid Green: Radio is powering up, transmitting, or indicating full battery capacity (when Battery Strength button is pressed).
  • Blinking Green: Radio is receiving a call or data, or detecting activity over the air.
  • Solid Yellow: Radio is monitoring a conventional channel or indicating fair battery capacity (when Battery Strength button is pressed).
  • Blinking Yellow: Radio is scanning for activity or has yet to respond to a Call Alert.
  • Double Blinking Yellow: Radio is locked or has yet to respond to a Group Call Alert.

To dispose of batteries, packaging, or Motorola equipment, use Motorola's technical assistance network or call 08000168272. Improper disposal of batteries and electronic waste can harm the environment.

This product is homologated by Anatel according to regulated procedures for telecommunications product conformity assessment and meets applied technical requirements, including Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) limits for electric, magnetic, and electromagnetic fields of radiofrequency.
