Preparing the Device
Unpacking
Follow these steps before using the device:
- Open the packaging box and remove the BinoX 4T.
- Verify your box contains: Optic, Optic Cover, Sunshade, Rubber Eye Piece, Charging Cable.
- Inspect the device for damage to optical surfaces, body, eyecups, and operation buttons.
- Ensure all optical surfaces are clean and ready for use.
NOTE: If any accessories are missing or broken, contact ATN's Customer Service at 1.800.910.2862.
Charging the Device
The device is equipped with a USB Type-C port, located under a rubber cap on the right side of the device. We have included a USB Type-C charging cable. Connect the cable to a USB wall charger with a 2 Amp output (wall charger not included).
Charge your binocular for 6 hours using a 2A USB wall charger. Using a charger with lower amperage will take longer.
- Recommended charger: 2A USB charger.
- Battery charging time (0-100%): 6 hours with a 2A USB charger.
- Battery run time: 15+ hours on a single charge.
Micro SD and USB C Ports
The device has a microSD Card and USB Type-C ports, found under rubber caps on the right side. To open the port cover, gently lift and move it aside.
NOTE: Ensure the device is turned OFF before inserting the formatted microSD Card.
- Always format a new microSD card before use.
- Insert the microSD card as shown in the diagram [Diagram showing MicroSD card insertion].
- Use a thin object (like a small coin or paper clip) to lock the microSD card in place after inserting it into the slot.
- Return the cover to its original position.
NOTE: There is only one correct direction to insert the microSD Card. Do not force it, as this may damage the binocular and the card.
To remove the microSD Card, push it slightly in with a thin object until it pops up a few millimeters, then pull it out with fingers or tweezers.
NOTE: For video recording, use a Class 10 (10 MB/sec) or faster microSD card with a capacity from 4 to 64 GB (HC type SD card).
Firmware Update
Before operating, update the firmware to the latest version. Firmware updates are available at atncorp.com/firmware. Register your device on the ATN website to receive email notifications for new updates.
You will need a microSD Card and a fully charged internal battery for the update.
NOTE: A power failure during an update may crash the device, corrupting system files and requiring factory service. Write down your zero coordinates before updating to avoid data loss.
Update Procedure:
- Download the firmware file (e.g., ***.bin) and copy it to the root directory of your microSD Card.
- Insert the card into the binocular.
- Turn ON the binocular.
- In the "Firmware Update" dialog box, select "Yes" to start.
- When the progress reaches "100%", the device will automatically restart [Firmware Update Progress Indicator].
- After restart, the device will enter self-configuration mode and restart again.
- Motion Sensing platform will be configured on first startup.
- After the firmware update, perform a factory reset before use.
- Delete the firmware file from the microSD card to prevent repeated updates.
NOTE: If the device does not restart within 30 seconds, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to turn it off.
