Product Maintenance and Care

Battery Charging

Charging the battery from empty to full takes 3 to 4 hours. It is not recommended to let the battery drain completely before recharging. You can recharge as needed, but it is recommended to charge once a week. A full charge provides approximately 16 hours of use in normal brightness mode and approximately 40 hours in low brightness mode.

You can check the battery level via the Acaia app.

Note: Using a "fast charging power adapter" (1A output exceeding 5V) may damage the internal circuitry of the scale.

Battery Percentage

To check the remaining battery power, press and hold the [Power Button] while the coffee scale is turned off until the battery percentage is displayed. You can also check the battery power by connecting the coffee scale to the Acaia app.

Weight Calibration

  1. Turn on your scale.
  2. Tare/Zero: Short press the Tare button.
  3. Display CAL: Repeatedly and quickly press the Tare button several times until the screen displays "CAL" and "100" alternately.
  4. Place Weight: Place a weight (100g, 500g, or 1000g) on the scale for calibration.

When the screen displays "_End_", calibration is complete. You can then remove the weight.

Mode Introduction

Mode 1 - Weighing Mode

In weighing mode, the product only displays the weight in grams or ounces. The scale can display two weight units: grams or ounces. When the unit is in ounces, the green indicator light on the top right of the screen will remain lit, and the display will show 0.000. The screen displays [0.0] when the unit is in grams. The screen displays [0.000] when the unit is in ounces. When the weight unit is in grams, the scale is 0.1 grams. When the weight unit is in ounces, the scale is 0.005 ounces.

Mode 4 - Portafilter Auto Tare Mode

This mode is designed to simplify the workflow when measuring coffee grounds with a portafilter. When the portafilter or container is placed on the scale, the scale automatically detects and tares the weight. It then remembers the portafilter's weight. When you lift the portafilter to adjust the coffee grounds and place it back on the scale, the display will only show the weight of the coffee grounds. The workflow is as follows: lift the portafilter to adjust the coffee grounds, then place it back on the scale to measure the coffee grounds again. Repeat this process until the desired weight is achieved. If the portafilter is removed for more than 15 seconds, the scale will reset this mode for the next operation, preparing to remember the portafilter's weight.

Mode 5 - Espresso Auto Mode

This mode is designed to assist in making espresso. The scale automatically detects the cup, glass, or other container and tares its weight. Then, when espresso is poured into the container, the timer automatically starts. When the water flow stops, the timer stops immediately. Finally, when the container is removed, the screen will alternately display the espresso weight and the container weight.

  3. If you do not operate the scale for 10 seconds, the timer will reset, and auto tare will begin.
  4. In Espresso Auto Mode, the timer will also stop when the weight is negative (i.e., when the cup is removed).

Mode 6 - Flow Rate Mode (Timer/Weight/Flow Rate)

This mode is designed for advanced pour-over coffee brewing. The screen displays the timer, weight, and real-time flow rate. Professional pour-over requires a stable water flow rate; this mode helps users control the water flow more accurately. The display shows [0:00 0.0 0.0] when the unit is in grams. The display shows [0:00 0.000 0.00] when the unit is in ounces. When the weight exceeds 999 grams, the screen will only display the integer part (no decimal points). The display limit is 3000 grams; exceeding 3000 grams will display [Maximum]. The flow rate is displayed on the right, in grams per second (g/sec).

Mode 7 - Flow Rate Practice Mode

This mode is specifically for practicing pouring stability. The current flow rate is displayed on the left side of the screen, and the pouring stability is displayed in the chart on the right. A more stable pour-over coffee flow rate is typically controlled between 2-4 grams per second. The flow rate is measured in grams/second and ounces/second. In the chart, each dot starting from the left represents an increase of 0.5 grams/second, providing a visual representation of the flow rate.

If your environment has more vibration interference, such as from wind or air conditioning, or if you are outdoors, you can set this parameter to (High) to eliminate environmental noise interference and make brewing more convenient.

Zero Tracking [Zero Tracking]

  1. Zero tracking ignores minor environmental influences, ensuring that the displayed weight remains at zero when no items are placed on the scale. If your environment causes more significant minor weight deviations, you can set a larger parameter.
  2. Off: It is not recommended to turn off this setting, as the scale's zero point is prone to drift due to temperature changes.
  3. 0.5d ~ 3d: For example, if each d is 0.1 g, then 3d = 3 x 0.1 g = 0.3 g. When zero tracking is set to 3d, if there is a minor weight deviation of ± 0.3 g while weighing, it will be ignored by the scale.
  4. The default value for this product is 1d.

Weight Resolution [Resolution]

  1. The default value is [Default]. For weights up to 1500 grams, the resolution is 0.1 grams; for weights between 1500 and 3000 grams, the resolution is 0.5 grams.
