Estimated Carbon Footprint
254 +/- 48 kgCO2e
Acer carefully considers environmental factors in every stage of the product life cycle, including material selection during design, packaging, shipping, usage, and recycling to reduce environmental impacts.
Acer utilizes the PAIA (Product Attribute to Impact Algorithm) methodology to perform product carbon footprint assessments. The PAIA platform, developed based on MIT's methodology, aims to streamline the process and provide consistent, fact-based results for product sustainability decisions.
All carbon footprint estimates are subject to uncertainty. For this product, the 5th and 95th percentile estimates range from 153 kgCO2e to 493 kgCO2e, reflecting this uncertainty. The reported estimate has a mean of 254 kgCO2e and a standard deviation of 48 kgCO2e.
Product Carbon Footprint by Percentage
The product's carbon footprint is distributed across its lifecycle stages. Manufacturing represents the largest share at 85.1%. Other significant contributors include Display (42.2%), Mainboard (and other boards) (18.4%), Power Supply Unit(s) (12.0%), and Use (8.8%). Smaller contributions come from Solid State Drive(s) (5.9%), Transport (5.6%), Chassis (3.5%), Battery (2.4%), Packaging (0.7%), and End of Life (0.5%).

About the Data
The product carbon footprint was calculated using the Product Attribute to Impact Algorithm (PAIA) model, Notebook tool, version 1.4.7. This tool is copyrighted by the ICT Benchmarking collaboration, which includes the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Materials Systems Laboratory and its partners.
The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) results are significantly influenced by the assumptions made. The PAIA tools are not configured for simultaneous simulation, and therefore, it is not recommended that PAIA results be used for direct comparisons.
