Methodology and Data

Acer utilizes the PAIA (Product Attribute to Impact Algorithm) platform to calculate product carbon footprints. This platform, developed based on MIT's methodology, facilitates streamlined and consistent results for product sustainability decisions.

Note on Uncertainty: All carbon footprint estimates are subject to uncertainty. For this product, the 5th and 95th percentile range is 241 kgCO2e to 718 kgCO2e. The estimated mean is 395 kg of CO2-e with a standard deviation of 70 kg of CO2-e. Other organizations may report this as 395 +/- 70 kg of CO2-e.

The product carbon footprint was calculated using the Product Attribute to Impact Algorithm model, Notebook tool, version 1.3.1. This tool is copyrighted by the ICT Benchmarking collaboration, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Materials Systems Laboratory and its partners.

The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) results are significantly influenced by the assumptions made. The PAIA tools are not configured for simultaneous simulation, and it is not recommended that PAIA results be used for direct comparisons.
