Protecting the Vacuum's Motor
Your vacuum has an internal thermal protector that prevents overheating of the main motor. If it activates, the main motor will stop, but the front lights and brush roll will remain on, resulting in no suction. If this happens, follow these steps:
- Turn vacuum OFF [? OFF] and unplug from the electrical outlet.
- Check for the source of overheating (e.g., full dirt tank, dirty filters, clog) and fix it. Refer to the "Vacuum won't pick up dirt" troubleshooting section.
- When the motor cools for approximately 30 minutes, the thermal protector will automatically reset and cleaning may continue.
If the vacuum will not turn ON [? ON] or the thermal protector continues to activate, contact Consumer Care. For more assistance, visit support.BISSELL.com.
Resetting the Brush Motor
A circuit protects the brush motor. If something becomes lodged in the foot and the brush shuts off, turn the cleaner OFF [? OFF] and unplug from the outlet. Remove the obstruction. The brush will automatically reset when the cleaner is plugged in and turned back ON [? ON]. For more assistance, visit support.BISSELL.com.
