Get Started
Keys and Parts
This user guide applies to the following model: TA-1139.
The keys and parts of your phone are:
Front View:
1. Left selection key
2. Scroll key: Press to access your apps and select items.
3. Earpiece/Loudspeaker

Back View:

Note on Antenna: Avoid touching the antenna area while the antenna is in use. Contact with antennas affects communication quality and may reduce battery life. Do not connect products that create an output signal to the device, as this may cause damage. Do not connect any voltage source to the audio connector. If you connect an external device or headset not approved for this device, pay special attention to volume levels. Parts of the device are magnetic; metallic materials may be attracted to it. Do not place credit cards or other magnetic storage media near the device, as stored information may be erased.
Some accessories, such as chargers, headsets, or data cables, may be sold separately.
Set Up and Switch On Your Phone
Learn how to insert the SIM card, memory card, and battery, and how to switch on your phone.
Steps to set up your phone:
- Put your fingernail in the small slot at the bottom of the phone, lift and remove the cover.
- If the battery is in the phone, lift it out.
- Slide the SIM card in the SIM1 slot. If you have a second SIM, slide it into the SIM2 slot. Both SIM cards are available simultaneously when the device is not in use, but while one SIM card is active (e.g., during a call), the other may be unavailable.
- If you have a memory card, slide it into the memory card slot.
- Put back the battery.
- Put back the cover.
Keypad
Use the Phone Keys
- To see the apps and features of your phone, on the home screen, select Menu.
- To go to an app or feature, press the scroll key up, down, left, or right. To open the app or feature, press the scroll key.
- To go back to the home screen, press the end key ?.
- To change the volume of your phone, scroll left or right.
- To switch on the flashlight, on the home screen, press the scroll key up twice. To switch it off, scroll up once. Do not shine the light in anyone's eyes.
The keypad includes numbers 0-9, *, and #.
Calls
Make calls by selecting contacts or dialing numbers.
- To make a call, dial the number and press the call key.
- To end a call, press the end key ?.
- To answer a call, press the call key.
Contacts
Add a Contact
Save and organize your friends' phone numbers.
- Select Menu ☰ > Contacts > Add.
- Write the name and type in the number.
- Select Save ✔️.
To add more contacts, select Options > Add new contact.
Save a Contact from Call Log
- Select Menu ☰ > Call log > Missed, Received, or Dialled, depending on where you want to save the contact.
- Scroll to the number you want to save, select Options > Save ✔️, and select where you want to save the contact.
- Add the contact's name, check that the phone number is correct, and select Save ✔️.
Send Messages
Write and Send Messages
- Select Menu ☰ > Messages > Create message.
- In the 'To' field, enter the recipient's number, or select Add > Contacts to add recipients from your contacts list.
- Write the message in the message field.
- To insert images or use predictive text, select Options. To insert smileys or symbols, select Options > Insert options.
- Select Send ▶️.
Change Tones
Set new tones for calls and messages.
- Select Menu ☰ > Settings > Tones.
- Select the tone you want to change and choose the SIM card (if asked).
- Scroll to the desired tone and select OK.
Change the Look of Your Home Screen
Choose a New Wallpaper
You can change the background of your home screen.
- Select Menu ☰ > Settings > Display settings > Wallpaper.
- Select Default, scroll to the wallpaper you want, and select View.
- If you like the wallpaper, select Choose and then select how you want to position it on the home screen.
Tip: You can also use a photo you've taken or received as wallpaper. Select Menu ☰ > Settings > Display settings > Wallpaper > Photos.
Show Date and Time
You can select to see the date and time on your phone's home screen.
Select Menu ☰ > Settings > Date and time > Show date and time > On.
If you want your phone to update the time automatically, set Auto-update time to 'On'.
Tip: You can also set your phone to show the time even in the idle mode. Select Menu ☰ > Settings > Display settings > Glance screen > On.
Profiles
Your phone has different profiles for different situations. You can edit profiles to your liking.
Add Shortcuts
You can add shortcuts to different apps and settings on your home screen.
Edit Go to Settings
On the bottom left of your home screen is 'Go to', which contains shortcuts to various apps and settings. Select the shortcuts that are the handiest for you.
- Select Menu ☰ > Settings > Go to settings.
- Select Choose options.
- Scroll to each shortcut you want on the 'Go to' list and select Mark ✔️.
- Select Done > Yes to save the changes.
You can also reorganize your 'Go to' list:
- Select Organise.
- Scroll to the item you want to move, select Move, and choose where you want to move it.
- Select Back > Yes to save the changes.
Get the Most Out of the Two SIM Cards
Your phone can have two SIM cards, and you can use them for different purposes.
Select Which SIM Card to Use
Select Menu ☰ > Settings > Connectivity > Dual SIM.
- To choose which SIM to use for calls, select Default SIM for calls, and then select Always ask, SIM1, or SIM2.
- To choose which SIM to use for messages, select Default SIM for msgs, and then select Always ask, SIM1, or SIM2.
Camera
Photos and Videos
Your phone is equipped to capture memories.
Take a Photo
- Select Menu ☰ > ?.
- To zoom in or out, scroll up or down.
- To take a photo, select ⏺️.
To see the photo you just took, select Menu ☰ > Photos.
Options for the Camera
Select Menu ☰ > ? > ⚙️, and select the option you want, such as Brightness or Image effects.
Record a Video
- Select Menu ☰ > ?.
- Scroll left and select ⏺️.
- To stop the video, select ⏹️.
To see the video you just recorded, select Menu ☰ > Videos.
Internet and Connections
Browse the Web
Connect to the internet.
- Select Menu ☰ > ?.
- Write a web address and select Go.
- Use the scroll key to move in the browser.
Bluetooth®
Connect your phone to other devices with Bluetooth.
Switch on Bluetooth
- Select Menu ☰ > Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth.
- Switch Bluetooth to On.
- Select Active to find a new device or Paired to find a device you have paired your phone with previously.
Music
Music Player
You can listen to your MP3 music files with the music player.
Listen to Music
- Select Menu ☰ > ?.
- Select whether you want to view your songs, artists, albums, or playlists.
- Scroll to a song and select Play ▶️.
Tip: To set a song as a ringtone, select Options > Use as tone.
Listen to Radio
Connect a compatible headset to your phone; it acts as an antenna.
Search for Radio Stations
- Select Menu ☰ > ?.
- To search for all available stations, select Options > Auto tuning.
- To switch to a saved station, scroll left or right.
To change the volume, scroll up or down. To close the radio, select Options > Switch off.
Set the Time and Date Manually
You can set your phone clock manually.
- Select Menu ☰ > Settings > Date and time.
- Set the date and time as required.
- Select Save ✔️.
You can also set the time to update automatically.
Calendar
Need to remember an event? Add it to your calendar.
Select Menu ☰ > ? to access the calendar.
Empty Your Phone
Restore Factory Settings
Restoring factory settings erases all data and settings from your phone, returning it to its original state.
- Select Menu ☰ > Settings > Restore factory settings.
- Confirm the action when prompted.
