MAULsquare Scale: Operating Instructions and Specifications
Getting Started
Battery: The scale is supplied with one standard CR2032 battery. The battery compartment is located on the underside of the scale. Please observe the polarity markings. Remove the insulation film before first use.
Positioning the Scales: Please ensure that the scale is placed on a horizontal surface.
Basic Operation
Weighing (ON): After switching on the scale with the "ON/OFF/TARE" button, "8888" will appear in the display. Please wait until zero (0) is shown. Only then should you place the item to be weighed on the scale and read the weight value.
Net Weighing (TARE): Weigh an empty container (or the first quantity of weight) and reset the scale to zero by pressing the "ON/OFF/TARE" button again. Fill the container (or place the second quantity of weight). Only the added net weight will be displayed.
Switch Off (OFF): Press and hold the "ON/OFF/TARE" button until the display turns off. The scale will automatically switch off after approximately 1 minute if no weight change occurs during this time, whether the scale is loaded or unloaded.
Switching Weight Units: The scale can display weight in grams (g), pounds/ounces (lb/oz), ounces (oz), or milliliters (ml). With the scale switched on, press the "Unit" button. Pressing the button again allows you to cycle through the units and select the desired weight unit.
User Calibration
If necessary, the scale can be recalibrated. With the scale switched off and unloaded, simultaneously press the "ON/OFF/TARE" and "g" buttons until a number appears in the display. A numerical value with or without a sign will be shown. Press the "ON/OFF/TARE" button again. "ZERO" will appear, followed by "5000". Now, place a 5kg calibrated weight on the scale and press the "ON/OFF/TARE" button. "CAL" will appear first, then "PASS", and finally "5000g". The scale has been recalibrated.
Important: The scale must not be exposed to any vibrations or air currents during calibration!
Explanation of Special Symbols
- Switching On: After pressing the "ON/OFF/TARE" button, all symbols appear. You can check if all segments are displayed correctly. The subsequent zero display indicates that the scale is ready for weighing.
- Negative Weight Display: Press the "ON/OFF/TARE" button again.
- Overload: If the weight placed on the scale is heavier than the maximum capacity, "EEEE" will appear in the display. Remove the weight and reset the scale to zero.
- Energy Supply: If ? appears on the display, it means the batteries are depleted and need to be replaced.
