Water Resistance Usage Guidelines

⚠️PRECAUTION:

  1. Watches with water resistance for everyday use (30M / 3 bar) can be used for washing hands, etc., but not for immersion in water.
  2. Watches with enhanced water resistance for everyday use Class 1 (50M / 5 bar) can be used for swimming, etc., but not for diving or underwater swimming.
  3. Watches with enhanced water resistance for everyday use Class II (100M or 200M / 10 or 20 bar) can be used for diving or underwater swimming, but not for diving with oxygen tanks or helium-based saturation diving.

ATTENTION:

  1. When operating the watch, the crown must be in the recessed (normal) position. If the crown is a screw-lock type, it must be screwed in tightly.
  2. Do not use the crown underwater or if the watch is wet. Water may penetrate the watch case and impair its water resistance.
  3. If your watch is not water-resistant, avoid splashes of water (e.g., when washing hands, in rain) and condensation. If water gets on the watch or it fogs up, wipe it dry with a soft cloth.
  4. Even if your watch is designed for everyday use and is water-resistant, avoid strong jets of water. Exceeding the permissible water pressure level may compromise the watch's water resistance.
  5. If your water-resistant watch for everyday use comes into contact with seawater, shake off the water and wipe the case dry to prevent corrosion or other adverse effects.
  6. A small amount of moisture may be present inside the watch case. When the ambient temperature is lower than the temperature inside the watch, condensation may form on the inner surface of the glass. If this condensation is temporary, it does not harm the watch. However, if condensation persists or if water enters the watch, consult the place of purchase and do not ignore this problem.

Impact Resistance

  1. Remove your watch when engaging in strenuous sports. However, sports like golf, etc., will not negatively affect the watch's condition.
  2. Avoid strong impacts, such as dropping the watch on the floor.

Magnetic Field Effects

  1. Do not expose the watch to strong magnetic fields for extended periods, as the watch components may become magnetized, leading to malfunction. Exercise caution.
  2. Under the influence of a magnetic field, the watch may temporarily run fast or slow. Accuracy will be restored once the magnetic field is removed. In such cases, reset the time.

Vibration

The watch may lose accuracy if subjected to strong vibrations, such as those caused by riding a motorcycle, using a jackhammer, or a chainsaw.

Temperature

The watch may run incorrectly or stop at temperatures below or above the normal range (5°C – 35°C).

ATTENTION: Do not wear the watch in high temperatures (e.g., in a sauna). The watch may overheat and cause burns.

Chemicals, Gases, etc.

Exercise extreme caution when in contact with gases, mercury, and chemical substances (paint thinner, gasoline, various solvents, detergents containing such substances, glues, paints, medicinal preparations, perfumes, cosmetics, etc.). These substances may change the color of the watch case, bracelet/strap, and dial. Color changes, deformation, and damage to polymer components are also possible.

Additional Parts

ATTENTION: Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the watch.

⚠️PRECAUTION: Keep bracelet/strap pins and other small parts away from children. If a small part is swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Allergic Reactions

ATTENTION: If a rash or irritation appears on the skin after contact with the bracelet, stop wearing the watch and consult a doctor immediately.

Luminescent Coating

The hands and markers on the watch have a luminescent coating. It is made from safe, non-radioactive paint that absorbs sunlight and artificial light, emitting it in the dark. As it emits stored light, the coating gradually becomes dimmer. The amount of emitted light and the duration of luminescence depend on various factors: glass shape, paint layer thickness, ambient brightness, distance from the light source, and light absorption levels. Remember that if little light is absorbed, the watch will glow dimly or for a short time.

Water-Resistant Strap

Some models use leather and nylon straps that have undergone special treatment for sweat and water resistance. The water-resistant properties of these straps may be lost depending on the period and conditions of use.

Identifying the Caliber Number

Check your watch's caliber number against the watch model number or case code on the back of the watch case.

  1. Finding by 10-digit Model Number: Check the 10-digit model number on the warranty card supplied with the watch. You can also find the number on the product label attached to the watch. The second and third digits of the number indicate your watch's caliber number.

Example: If the model number is "AA00001B", the caliber number is "AA".

  1. Finding by Case Code: Find the case code on the back of your watch case. The first two digits correspond to the caliber number.

Example: If the case code is "AA00-C0", the caliber number is "AA".

* The case code location may vary depending on the watch's characteristics; its characters may be small and difficult to distinguish.

* Illustrations and diagrams in this manual may differ from the actual appearance of your watch, but the functions and operating procedures remain unchanged.

Watch Mechanisms

Automatic Winding Mechanism

  1. The mainspring is wound by the natural movements of your wrist when wearing the watch.
  2. If the watch has stopped, shake it gently about ten times to start the second hand. Once the second hand starts moving, set the date and time.
  3. With a full wind, the watch will run for approximately 40 hours. If the watch is not sufficiently wound, its accuracy may differ from the stated value. To ensure accuracy, it is recommended to wear the watch for at least 8 hours a day.

Manual Winding Mechanism

  1. The mainspring is wound manually.
  2. To wind the mainspring, ensure the crown is in the normal position, then slowly turn it clockwise. Turning the crown counter-clockwise will not wind the mainspring.
  3. If the watch has stopped, approximately 30 crown turns will be sufficient to wind the mainspring. The crown will continue to turn even when the mainspring is fully wound, so use the above number of turns as a guide.
  4. With a full wind, the watch runs for approximately 40 hours.

Models with Screw-Lock Crown

On some models, you cannot pull out the crown without unscrewing it (models with a screw-lock crown).

To operate watches of this type:

  1. Before setting the date and time, turn the crown counter-clockwise to unlock the screw.
  2. After setting the date and time, push the crown in and turn it clockwise until it locks the screw.

Monthly Calendar Setup

Some models feature a monthly calendar. The monthly calendar can be used by turning the crown to the 4 o'clock position to operate the rotating ring inside the case and align it with the day of the week indicated on the dial. Turn the crown to align the first day of the month with the corresponding day of the week.

[Diagram showing a watch dial with a rotating calendar ring and arrows indicating crown operation to align days of the week.]

* When setting the first day of the month, note that the days of the week at the end of the month will not be displayed if the last days of the month (31st, etc.) are aligned with the part of the dial where days of the week are not marked (the 3-4 o'clock side).

Using the Rotating Indicator Ring

Please note that some models are equipped with a rotating indicator ring that should be used properly.

Turn the ring so that the ∇ mark aligns with the minute hand. As time passes, you can measure the elapsed time by the distance between the minute hand and the numbers on the rotating indicator ring. You can also set the mark to a desired time to remind yourself of the remaining time.

[Diagram showing a watch with an external rotating bezel, with a marker (∇) aligned with the minute hand, and an arrow indicating elapsed time measurement.]

The ring cannot be turned in the opposite direction, as it is equipped with a safety mechanism to prevent accidental operation due to force or impact. The numbers on the rotating ring may also simplify reading the current time.

* Depending on the design, the reverse rotation prevention and the 1-minute click may be absent on some models.

Working with the Internal Rotating Bezel

Please note that some models are equipped with an internal rotating bezel that should be used properly.

Turn the crown so that the internal rotating bezel is set to the ∇ mark – relative to the minute hand's position. The position of the rotating bezel to which the minute hand points after some time indicates how much time has passed since the setting. By setting the mark to the desired time, you can determine how much time is left.

[Diagram showing a watch with an internal rotating bezel, with the bezel marker (∇) aligned with the minute hand, and an arrow indicating elapsed time.]

The diagram above shows that 10 minutes have passed since 10:08.

* The position of the crowns and the appearance of the rotating bezel may vary depending on the model.
