Your comprehensive guide to setting up and operating your Magcubic L018 projector.

Important Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Failure to follow instructions may void the warranty.

  • To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the device to rain or moisture. Do not place liquid-filled objects on the device.
  • Do not place on soft surfaces (tablecloths, carpets) as it may create a fire hazard.
  • Avoid areas with excessive dust, dirt, or strong magnetic fields.
  • Do not block ventilation holes to prevent overheating. Ensure adequate space around the device for ventilation.
  • Protect from direct sunlight, heat, large temperature fluctuations, and moisture. Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • The device surface may become hot during prolonged use. Shut down and unplug if hot, and resume after cooling.
  • Handle with care, avoid touching the lens. Supervise children when using the device.
  • Use only manufacturer-specified attachments or accessories.
  • Avoid extreme vibration, which can damage internal components.

Product Overview

The projector features a lens on the front. The top surface includes ventilation grilles and an IR receiver. Connectivity ports are located on the rear or side, including an HDMI Input, a 3.5mm Stereo Jack, a USB Input, and a Power Socket. An IR receiver is also present for the remote control.

Remote Control

The remote control provides access to all projector functions. Key buttons include:

  • ON/OFF [▶️ / ⏹️]: Powers the projector on or off.
  • MUTE [?]: Mutes or unmutes audio.
  • DIRECTIONS [⬆️ ⬇️ ⬅️ ➡️]: Navigates menus.
  • OK [✔️]: Confirms selections.
  • MENU [☰]: Opens the main menu.
  • RETURN [↩️]: Goes back to the previous screen.
  • VOL+/- [➕ / ➖]: Adjusts volume.
  • BT AIR: For Bluetooth and Airplay functions.
  • REMOTE: Switches remote control modes.
  • SWITCH TO MOUSE CONTROL [?️]: Activates mouse control mode.
  • ELECTRONIC FOCUS [?️]: Adjusts focus electronically.
  • HOME [?]: Returns to the home screen.

The remote control has an IR receiver and should be pointed towards the projector's IR receiver.

Getting Started

  1. Connect the power cable to the projector and plug it into a power outlet.
  2. Press the power button on the projector or the remote control to turn the device on.

Troubleshooting & Tips

Blurry Image

If the image is blurry, navigate to Settings > Display > Auto Keystone Correction. Turn on Auto Keystone Correction or use Manual Keystone adjustment in the settings to correct the image. You can also press the [Focus] button on the remote control for the best clarity.

Focus Adjustment

Use the manual focus adjustment by pressing the [Focus] button on the remote control.

Placement Tip

For optimal viewing, ensure the projector is positioned horizontally relative to the projector screen.

Remote Control Usage Tips

  • Do not submerge the remote control in water.
  • Keep the remote control away from fire, wet, or hot places.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Remove batteries if the remote control will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Point the remote control towards the IR receiver on the projector.
  • Use the remote control within a range of 6 meters and an angle of 30 degrees.

Cleaning Method

To clean the projector:

  1. Prepare a screwdriver and unscrew the bottom cover screws.
  2. Clean the projector using a cotton swab.
  3. Reinstall the bottom cover after cleaning.

Settings Menu Navigation

Access various settings by navigating through the projector's menu:

Networking Settings

Go to Settings > Network Settings to configure Wireless Network or Hotspot settings.

Bluetooth Settings

Go to Settings > Bluetooth Settings. Activate BT Switch to search and pair devices.

Projection Settings

Go to Settings > Projector Settings to configure Installation Mode, Device Mode, Digital Scaling, Auto Focus, Auto Four Corner Correction, Screen Recognition, Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance, Manual Trapezoidal adjustment, and Reset Trapezoidal Correction.

Application Settings

Go to Settings > All Applications to access the App Store, Bluetooth Speaker, Music, Play Store, Screen Cast, and WPS Office.

Language and Keyboard

Go to Settings > Language and Keyboard to set the system language and select input methods.

Date and Time Settings

Go to Settings > Date and Time Settings to configure Date, Time, Time Zone, and Time Format.

About

Go to Settings > About to view Device Model, UI Version, Android Version, Resolution, Memory, Storage, Wireless MAC, Serial Number, and access Local Upgrade or Online Upgrade options.

Other Settings

Go to Settings > Other Settings to configure External Input at Boot, Button Sound, Screen Saver, Scheduled Power Off, Restore Factory Settings, and Developer Mode.

Screen Cast

Navigate to Settings > Application Settings > Screen Cast. Open the Screen Cast service, turn on phone mirroring, and establish a connection.
