How To: Baofeng UV-5R

This document provides a guide to the controls of the Baofeng UV-5R two-way radio. The image shows two radios with numbered indicators pointing to key functions.

Key Controls and Functions

1. On/Off knob: Rotate clockwise and counterclockwise to turn the radio on/off and adjust volume.
2. Alarm/Call button: Hold to send an alarm (use only in emergencies). Press once to listen to FM Radio.
3. Push-To-Talk (PTT): Push and hold to transmit. Release to stop transmitting.
4. Monitor: This button should not be pressed for normal operation.
5. A/B: Toggles between the top and bottom frequencies displayed.
6. #/Lock key: Hold down to lock or unlock the keypad.
