Caution

Thermostat Operation
Description of thermostat components:
- 1 LCD Screen
- 2 Fan Switch (Controls fan operation: ON, AUTO)
- 3 System Switch (Controls system mode: OFF, HEAT, COOL, EMH)
- 4 Temperature Set-Point Buttons (Up/Down arrows to adjust temperature)
- 5 User Buttons (For programming options)
Component Details
1 LCD Screen: Displays current time, room temperature, set temperature, and system status.
2 Fan Switch: Select ON to run the fan continuously. Select AUTO to cycle the fan only when the heating or cooling system is active.
3 System Switch: Selects HEAT for heating mode, COOL for cooling mode, OFF to turn both off, or EMH for heat pumps with auxiliary heat (locks out compressor, controls emergency/auxiliary heat).
4 Temperature Set-Point Buttons: Press the [+] or [-] buttons to select the desired temperature.
5 User Buttons: Used to set up programming options.
Thermostat Quick Reference
The LCD screen displays:
- Days of the week and time.
- Current room temperature.
- User selected set-point temperature.
- System operation indicators: ❄️ (COOL), ? (HEAT), ? (FAN) icons display when the respective system is active.
- Low Battery Indicator ?: Replace batteries when shown.
- Hold status: Displayed when the thermostat program is overridden.
- Note: Flashing icons indicate a 5-minute delay for compressor protection.
Programmable Time Periods: This thermostat supports 4 programmable time periods per day.
Battery Information
Caution: ⚠️ When the battery icon ? appears, replace the alkaline AAA batteries immediately to avoid damage to your HVAC system. Freezing or overheating could occur.
Battery Door Information:
- Press the lower portion of the thermostat to open the easy access battery door.
- Install two AAA Alkaline batteries into the battery compartment.
- Ensure positive (+) ends of batteries match positive (+) battery terminals in the compartment.
Temperature Adjustment and Schedule Hold
Temporary Adjustment: Press the [+] or [-] buttons to temporarily change the desired temperature set-point. The temperature will remain at this set-point until the next programmed event (WAKE, LEAVE, RETURN, SLEEP), after which the program schedule resumes.
Program Schedule Hold: Pressing the [+] or [-] buttons while the thermostat displays HOLD and RUN SCHED allows you to hold the temperature at a fixed set-point, overriding the program schedule. The thermostat will display HOLD below the temperature set-point to indicate this mode.
To Return to Programming: Press RUN SCHED to resume the program schedule.
Filter Change Reminder
The thermostat can be configured to remind you when the air filter needs changing. The reminder can be adjusted from 0 to 2000 hours in 50-hour increments.
If the installer configured this feature, the display will show "FILTER" when it's time to change the air filter. To reset the reminder after changing the filter, hold down the second button from the top left side of the thermostat for 3 seconds.
Programming
Set Time of Day and Day of Week
- Press the MENU button.
- Press SET TIME.
- The day of the week will flash. Use [+] or [-] to select the current day.
- Press NEXT STEP.
- The current hour will flash. Use [+] or [-] to select the current hour. Note the a.m./p.m. indicator.
- Press NEXT STEP.
- The minutes will flash. Use [+] or [-] to select the current minutes.
- Press DONE when completed.
Custom Programming
This thermostat supports 7 Day or 5+1+1 programming. In 7 Day mode, each day is programmed individually. In 5+1+1 mode, Monday-Friday are programmed together, and Saturday and Sunday are programmed individually. There are four daily time periods: WAKE, LEAVE, RETURN, SLEEP.
To customize your program schedule:
- Select HEAT or COOL (must be programmed separately).
- Press MENU (or RUN SCHED if MENU is not visible).
- Press SET SCHED. The display will show Monday-Friday (or Monday in 7 Day mode) and the WAKE icon.
- Time will flash. Use [+] or [-] to set the WAKE time for Monday-Friday (or Monday in 7 Day mode).
- Press NEXT STEP.
- Set-point temperature will flash. Use [+] or [-] to set the WAKE temperature for Monday-Friday (or Monday in 7 Day mode).
Custom Programming (Continued)
- Press NEXT STEP.
- Repeat steps 4-7 for the LEAVE, RETURN, and SLEEP time periods for Monday-Friday (or Monday in 7 Day mode).
- Repeat steps 4-8 for Saturday's WAKE, LEAVE, RETURN, and SLEEP periods, and then again for Sunday's periods for the 5+1+1 schedule. For the 7-day schedule, repeat for each day.
Installer Setup Menu
Accessing and navigating the installer setup:
- Press MENU.
- Press and hold the TECH SET button for 3 seconds.
- Configure installer options as per the table.
- Use the [+] or [-] buttons to change settings and NEW STEP or PREV STEP to move between options.
Note: Only press DONE when you wish to exit the Installer Setup Options.

Terminal Designations
The following terminal designations are used on the thermostat:
- W2: Auxiliary heat relay
- Y: Compressor relay
- G: Fan relay
- O: Heat pump reversing valve energized in cooling
- R: 24VAC Power
- C: Common wire from system transformer
- B: Heat pump reversing valve energized in heating
- W/E: Emergency heat relay
Note: In many heat pump systems without an emergency heat relay, a jumper can be installed between E and W2 to enable single-stage control for Emergency Heat Operation.
