Environmental Information
The AUREA air circulator is designed in compliance with the requirements of RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU) restricting the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and flame retardants.
Packaging mass and volume have been optimized according to European packaging directives. Efforts have been made to replace plastic in packaging with recycled and recyclable cardboard.
The AUREA circulator requires balancing during installation.
Usage: Before starting, visually check blade supports are not deformed, blades are correctly fixed, and there is no play in the blade fixing or stem. Listen for the click when the circuit breaker is engaged. Normal usage requires no maintenance.
End-of-Life: Resistex is a member of the eco-organization ecosystem, facilitating the recycling and recovery of all its WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). A service in collaboration with ecosystem is available to collect WEEE free of charge.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Methodology
The Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) underpinning this Product Environmental Profile (PEP) adheres to the criteria set by PCR-ed4-FR-2021 09 06 of the PEP ecopassport® Program. The functional unit and scenarios for distribution, use, and waste treatment align with the hypotheses defined in the PCR.
Results were obtained using EIME software version 6.2 with its April 2024 database (updated June 2024).
Manufacturing Stage: Products are assembled at the RESISTEX factory in China. This stage includes: Production and upstream transport of raw materials and packaging (primary and secondary), industrial material processing, assembly (energy, gas, water consumption; waste from offcuts and packaging), end-of-life treatment of waste, and transport of the packaged product to the final logistics point. Recycled material content is considered 0%.
Distribution Stage: Product distribution from the last logistics platform (Saint André de la Roche, France) to installation sites in France was modeled via truck transport (250 km) and container transport (19000 km).
Installation Stage: This phase considers the end-of-life of the product's packaging.
Usage Stage: Given the absence of specific product durability data, the lifespan is set at 17 years, consistent with similar market products. This is representative of residential and tertiary use. The product is used for 17 years with 1080 hours of annual use, totaling 18360 hours. Average usage estimates a consumption of 12.88W, resulting in 236.4768 kWh over its lifetime. No component replacement is necessary during the product's lifespan.
End-of-Life Stage: This stage includes transport and treatment of the product and its light source. Modeling uses the ICV modules from the EcoSystem ESR database for evaluating the environmental footprint of electrical and electronic equipment at end-of-life. Data for 96 materials are modeled across different flows. ESR data without virgin material substitution benefits were used, categorized under 'Professional Lighting Equipment'.
Module D - Net Benefits and Charges Beyond the System Boundary: Benefits and charges related to recycled materials in the product's manufacturing and packaging recycling at the installation stage are considered. These are modeled as negative virgin material quantities for benefits and positive for charges.
