Mounting Options

• Option A - Direct To Vehicle: Requires drilling directly into the vehicle. Select a sturdy, secure location.
• Option B - Third-Party Universal / Custom Mounting Brackets (Not Included): Ensure brackets are appropriate for the light size.
• Option C - Third-Party Universal Clamp-On Light Mounts (Not Included): Ensure clamp-on mounts are appropriate for the light size.

Wiring

Wire Functions:

• Black Wire: Connect to ground (-)
• Red Wire: Off-road light, connect to 12V power source (+)
• Blue Wire: Auxiliary light, connect to 12V power source (+)
• White Wire: Clearance light, connect to 12V power source (+)

Wiring Diagram Description:

The system connects from the vehicle's Battery (+) and (-) terminals. The positive terminal connects to a 15A Fuse, then to a 40A Relay, and finally to a Light Control Switch. The negative terminal connects directly to ground. The lights connect to the harness with Red (+) and Black (-) wires. The harness also includes Yellow wires, typically for additional functions or indicators.

Installation Guide (Option A - Wiring Harness)

1. Draw a diagram for light placement, wire routing, and relay/switch installation to determine wiring needs and mounting locations. Measure carefully.
2. With the engine cool, test fit the wiring harness for proper lengths to the lights.
3. Connect the RED (+) wire from the light to the RED (+) spade terminal on the harness, and the BLACK (-) wire to the BLACK (-) spade terminal. Secure with a crimp tool. Use provided connectors/sleeves if necessary.
4. Repeat step 3 for the second light.
5. Test light functionality after connecting all lights to the harness.
6. Route the switch and relay appropriately. The in-line switch and relay typically need to be secured inside the vehicle's interior, beyond the firewall. Look for a firewall grommet or access points in the driver/passenger footwells. Consult your vehicle's manual for firewall access.
7. Mount the switch.
8. Power on the vehicle and test the lights.
9. If functioning correctly, turn off the vehicle and secure any loose wires. Cable ties and wire loom are recommended for cable management and protection (not included).

Alternative Wiring Options

• Option B - Direct To Battery: Requires appropriate extension wire gauge (see Specifications for AWG). Additional parts needed: in-line fuse holder, ring terminals, and switch for manual control. Recommendation: TYPE S 12V 40A Relay (included).
• Option C - Power Hub (LM534403, Sold Separately): Ideal for powering/controlling more than 2 lights and for DOT/SAE light mode functions. See the TYPE S LYNX 6, a 6-Switch Control Panel & Power Hub (LM534403, sold separately).

Before Installation

1. Electrical Ratings: Determine amperage (Amps = Watts/Volts). Use the correct fuse, rated higher than total current draw to protect against surges.
2. Relay Requirements: Use a relay for high amperage (over 10 amps) to safely switch higher current, preventing high current through the switch.
3. Battery & Alternator Capacity: Ensure your vehicle's battery and alternator can handle the additional load. Consider upgrading if the electrical system is already heavily loaded.

Note: The hex head screws, washers, spring washers, and nuts are pre-installed on the lights and should be removed before installation.

Recommended Mounting Locations:

When used as clearance lights, mount as high as possible, symmetrically over vehicle edges. When used as auxiliary lights, they supplement, not replace, high-beam headlights.

Tips

• Test lights before finalizing installation.
• Use cable ties to secure loose wiring, keeping them away from heat and moving parts.

Warranty

TYPE S LIMITED WARRANTY

TYPE S warrants, to the original purchaser, that its products are free from defects in material and workmanship for 2 years from the date of original purchase. Where permitted by law, TYPE S’s liability shall be limited to that set forth in this limited express warranty. This limited express warranty shall be the exclusive remedy of the purchaser, and TYPE S makes no other warranty of any kind.

Note: Warranty applies only to North American customers for purchases made in North America.

Conditions of Warranty

If the product is found defective within the 2-year warranty period, TYPE S will repair or replace it without charge for parts or labor, subject to the following conditions:

1. All repairs must be performed by TYPE S.
2. All warranty claims must include a copy of the sales receipt or bill of sale.
3. The equipment must not be altered or damaged due to negligence, accident, improper operation, or failure to follow instructions.
4. Replacement of parts due to normal wear and tear is excluded.
5. Repair or replacement parts are protected only for the unexpired portion of the original warranty.
6. This is a "repair or replace" warranty only; it does not cover installation, removal, or reinstallation costs, or damage to mobile phone devices or vehicles.
