7. Installation
7.1 Unit Installation Diagram
The diagram illustrates the installation connections for the unit, including:
- Cold water input
- Hot water output
- Condensate outlet
- Floor drain
- PTR valve
- Thermostatic mixer tap
- Three-way valve
- Cut-off valves
Warning: Insulation plastic pipes such as PPR pipes are recommended. Pipe length (L) should be determined by the formula L≥70×R², where R is the inner diameter of the pipe in cm. Pipes must be insulated. Metal pipes are not allowed.
7.2 Installation Dimension
Diagram showing required clearances for air inlet and outlet. Minimum clearances are specified:
- Air outlet: ≥2000mm
- Air inlet: ≥650mm (side clearance), ≥500mm (front clearance)
7.3 Installation Requirements
- Ensure sound and airflow do not affect people, animals, or plants.
- Ensure good ventilation. If a canopy is used, it should not impede heat dissipation or absorption.
- Install on a solid, flat foundation, ensuring the unit is upright. Reinforce for strong winds, typhoons, or earthquakes.
- Ensure reliable connection of the drain pipe to a proper drainage point.
- Install in a location sheltered from rain, with sun shading devices.
- Install piping and valves in ambient temperatures above 0°C, preferably near the main hot water point.
- Avoid installing in areas without good drainage to prevent water leakage damage.
- The unit must be located upright on a flat, spacious, and solid foundation capable of supporting four times the unit's weight when filled with water. Do not hang the unit or mount it on an external wall. Use fixing belts for stability, especially in high-wind areas, and consider additional reinforcement. Fixing belts are for auxiliary support only.
- Water quality must comply with local sanitation standards for domestic drinking water.
Table 7.3-1 Water Quality Requirements:
Parameter | Requirement | Parameter | Requirement |
---|---|---|---|
pH (25°C) | 6.8~8.0 | Turbidity (scattering turbidity unit)/NTU | <1 |

7.4 Wiring
Warning: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel according to national wiring regulations. Ensure power supply, wires, and sockets comply with nameplate specifications and have sufficient capacity.
- The fixed circuit must include a residual current device (RCD) and a circuit breaker.
- The unit must be reliably grounded.
- The unit circuit must be at least 1.5m away from any inflammable surface.
- Use a separate fixed device for power supply, matching the water heater's requirements and local standards.
- Do not use socket converters, extension cords, or wiring boards. Connect wires separately and do not share circuits with other appliances.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified service agent.

7.4.3 Electrical Wiring and Connection Requirement
- Ensure power cord and communication wires are tightly secured with a wire clamp on the outer sheath.
- Separate communication cords from power cords for the external unit. Maintain a minimum distance of 20cm between parallel wires to prevent communication anomalies. Cover strong and weak wires separately with wire sleeves.
7.4.4 Wired Controller Installation
The wired controller is installed on the unit's front panel by default. If relocating, the communication cable length should not exceed 8m.
7.5 Commissioning Operation
Warning: All personnel must adhere to safety regulations during commissioning and maintenance. Power must be cut off before performing operations. Comply with all safety requirements and regulations.
7.5.1 Check before Commissioning
After installation, perform the following checks:
Table 7.5-1 Unit Installation Checklist:
Items to be checked | What may happen if the installation is improper |
---|---|
Whether the unit is installed reliably | The unit produces noise or vibration, potentially causing danger (e.g., falling). |
Whether there are obstacles at the air outlet and air inlet of the unit | The unit operates abnormally. |
Whether the cold water inlet pipe and hot water outlet pipe use PPR pipes | Safety hazard may happen. |
Whether the safety valve of water tank is installed | High water tank pressure, posing a safety hazard. |
Whether a stabilizing valve is installed when the inlet pressure of water tank is too high | High water tank pressure; safety valve may discharge water, causing abnormal noise. |
Whether all parts of the water pipeline have been properly insulated | Unit performance may be affected; pipeline may be damaged by freezing. |
Whether the power supply voltage is consistent with the product nameplate, and whether the wire type meets the regulations | Unit malfunction or component burnout. |
7.5.2 Trial Operation
Note: The water tank must be filled with water before powering on the unit. Debugging can commence after installation inspection.
Debugging Steps:
- Water recharge: Fill the water tank as per the installation tips label. Ensure no water leakage in pipelines or joints.
- Energization: Power on the unit and check the wired controller display for normal operation (no fault indicated).
- System time calibration: Set the time on the wired controller according to its manual.
- Operation: Turn on the unit via the wired controller. When the heating icon is displayed, check for normal operation: fan running smoothly, unit stable with no excessive vibration or noise. The unit can be delivered after running for at least 20 minutes without abnormality.
8. Model Selection
Residential water heater systems typically have tank capacities of 150L-300L. Tank capacity can be estimated as (50-80) L × n (number of persons) for floor-standing types.
