Initial Setup and First Use
- Preparation: Ensure all components are clean and assembled correctly. Fill the bean hopper with fresh coffee beans. Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water. If using pre-ground coffee, ensure the correct funnel is in place.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cord to a suitable electrical outlet.
- Power On: Press the power button (C1) to turn on the machine.
- Rinsing Cycle: The machine will perform an initial rinsing cycle. Follow on-screen prompts or indicator lights.
- Water Tank Filling: Ensure the water tank is filled to the "MAX" level.
- Bean Hopper Filling: Fill the bean hopper with coffee beans.
- Ground Coffee Usage: If using pre-ground coffee, press the pre-ground coffee icon and add the coffee using the measuring spoon (D2) into the designated funnel (A4).
Making Coffee
- Select Drink: Use the select dial to choose your desired beverage (e.g., Espresso, Cappuccino).
- Adjust Settings (Optional): Use the control buttons to adjust aroma intensity or coffee strength if applicable.
- Brew: Press the "Brew" button (C4) to start brewing.
- Cappuccino/Latte Macchiato: For milk-based drinks, attach the milk carafe (E2) with the integrated milk intake tube (E3) to the machine. Ensure the milk regulator (E5) is set correctly. The machine will automatically froth milk and dispense it into the cup, followed by coffee.
- Hot Water/Steam: Use the "Hot Water" (C6) or "Steam" (C5) buttons for dispensing hot water or frothing milk manually with the steam wand (A16).
- Dispensing: Place your cup under the coffee spout. The machine will dispense the selected beverage.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential for optimal performance and longevity of the machine.
- Daily Cleaning: Empty and rinse the drip tray (A8/A15) and the grounds container daily. Rinse the steam wand (A16) after each use.
- Weekly Cleaning: Remove and clean the brew unit (A13) weekly. Rinse the milk carafe (E2) and its components thoroughly.
- Descaling: Descale the machine regularly using the recommended descaler (D3) when prompted by the machine or indicator lights. Follow the descaling program.
- Water Filter Replacement: Replace the water filter (D1) as recommended to prevent limescale buildup.
- Milk System Cleaning: After each use involving milk, run the "Milk Clean" cycle or manually rinse the milk intake tube and steam wand.
Troubleshooting
Refer to the machine's display or indicator lights for specific error messages or troubleshooting guidance.
- No Coffee Dispensing: Check if the water tank is full, the bean hopper has beans, and the brew unit is correctly inserted.
- Weak Coffee: Adjust the grind setting to a finer level. Ensure fresh beans are used.
- Milk Not Frothing: Ensure the milk carafe is clean and correctly assembled. Check the milk intake tube and steam nozzle for blockages.
Safety Precautions
- Read all instructions before use.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or appliance in water or other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
