Operating Instructions
Initial Setup and Filling
- Step 1: Insert the water tank (Diagram 1).
- Step 2: Fill the water tank with fresh water (Diagram 2). Ensure the tank is properly seated.
- Step 3: Insert the drip tray and the coffee ground collector into their housing (Diagram 3).
Preparing Coffee
- Step 4: Adjust the height of the coffee spouts to accommodate your cup size (Diagram 4).
- Step 5: Place a cup under the coffee spouts (Diagram 5).
- Step 6: Fill the coffee bean hopper with whole coffee beans (Diagram 6). Close the hopper lid.
- Step 7: For pre-ground coffee, open the bypass doser lid (A6) and insert one level measure of pre-ground coffee using the provided spoon (C2) (Diagram 7). Close the lid.
- Step 8: Ensure the coffee bean hopper is filled and the lid is closed (Diagram 8).
Dispensing Coffee
- Step 9: Press the '1 Cup' button (B2) to dispense a single espresso (Diagram 9).
- Step 10: Press the '2 Cups' button (B3) to dispense a double espresso (Diagram 10).
- Step 11: Use the coffee strength selector dial (B1) to choose your preferred coffee strength and the coffee dispensing knob (B8) to adjust the volume (Diagram 11).
- Step 12: Select the desired coffee temperature using the coffee temperature selector (B9) (Diagram 12).
Dispensing Hot Water and Steam
- Step 13: Press the 'Hot Water' button (B5) to dispense hot water. Use the steam knob (A11) to control the flow (Diagram 13).
- Step 14: To froth milk, press the 'Steam' button (B4). Wait for the indicator light to show it's ready. Insert the steam wand into milk and open the steam knob (A11) (Diagram 14).
- Step 15: After frothing, close the steam knob (A11) and clean the steam wand immediately with a damp cloth (Diagram 15).
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Step 16: Remove the brew group by pulling the lever or handle (Diagram 16).
- Step 17: Clean the brew group under running water, removing coffee grounds and residue (Diagram 17).
- Step 18: Empty the coffee ground collector (A20) when the indicator light (B12) illuminates or after approximately 12 coffees (Diagram 18).
- Step 19: The descaling indicator (B15) will light up when descaling is required. Follow the descaling procedure using De'Longhi Descaler (C3) (Diagram 19).
- Step 20: Remove and empty the drip tray (A14) and clean it (Diagram 20).
- Step 21: Clean the inside of the brew group housing with a damp cloth (Diagram 21).
- Step 22: Reinsert the brew group correctly into its housing (Diagram 22).
- Step 23: Ensure the brew group is fully inserted and locked in place (Diagram 23).
- Step 24: Access the brew group housing by opening the side panel or door (Diagram 24).
- Step 25: The brew group can be disassembled for thorough cleaning (Diagram 25).
- Step 26: Place the brew group back into the machine, ensuring it is correctly oriented (Diagram 26).
- Step 27: Ensure the machine is placed on a stable, level surface (Diagram 27).
