- New Feature: Spanning Trees Devices running this protocol discover loops in the network by exchanging information, selectively blocking ports, and pruning the network into a loop-free tree structure to prevent packet multiplication and indefinite looping. This avoids degrading packet processing capacity caused by receiving the same message repeatedly.(The original document includes screenshots of the Spanning Tree configuration UI, showing options like Bridge ID, Root Bridge ID, Port Role, Priority, and Path Cost.)
- New Feature: PoE Watchdog The watchdog function on PoE ports checks the connection to the destination IP address by sending ping packets. If a link failure is detected, the PoE port will automatically power off and restart to help resolve device failure and unresponsiveness issues.(The original document includes screenshots of the PoE Watchdog configuration UI, showing options for enabling/disabling, IP address, send packet interval, retries, and disable time.)
- New Feature: SNMP Function The SNMP feature manages network resources by allowing the central computer of the network management software (network management workstation). Basic functions include monitoring port enablement, PoE power supply, detecting and analyzing network errors, and configuring network devices.(The original document includes screenshots of SNMP configuration UI, showing options for Read Community, Write Community, and Trap Community.)
- New Feature: LLDP Function The LLDP feature allows network devices to periodically send their own device information to neighbor devices. The network management system can obtain the switch information through the protocol and query and judge the communication status of the link.(The original document includes screenshots of LLDP configuration UI, showing options for server address, UDP port, and various event types like Port Up/Down, Cold Start, etc.)
- New Feature: DHCP Snooping DHCP Snooping is a security feature that ensures the DHCP client obtains the IP address from the legitimate DHCP server and records the correspondence between the DHCP client and MAC address, along with other parameters, to prevent attacks against DHCP on the network.(The original document includes screenshots of DHCP Snooping configuration UI, showing options for Trust Mode and Option82.)
- New Feature: Management Platform The management platform supports automatic selection or manual configuration of the connection. The top icon prompts the takeover platform and the current connection status.(The original document includes screenshots of Management Platform configuration UI, showing options like GDMS Networking, L2 Manager, L3 Manager, etc.)
- GWN7710R Specific Enhancements:
- Added LED switch, supporting one-click off device LED indicator.
- Added Loop Detection status to the Loop Detection list.
- Changed the table header status to Port Status.
- New Feature: Management VLAN Configuration The management VLAN takes effect only for 802.1Q VLANs. Only ports configured as management VLANs can access web pages.(The original document includes screenshots of IP Setting UI showing Management VLAN configuration options.)
