Blinds2go Roller Blinds Installation Guide
We've made a handy video version of this fitting guide; please click the play button to view it. If you prefer to print the instructions or simply to follow step-by-step, please continue reading.
Fitting the brackets
The brackets offer three methods of installation:
Top-Fixing
Diagram shows a bracket being screwed into the top surface of a window frame. The blind mechanism is designed to slot into this bracket.
Face-Fixing
Diagram shows a bracket being screwed onto the front surface (face) of a wall or window frame. The blind mechanism is designed to slot into this bracket.
Side-Fixing
Diagram shows a bracket being screwed into the side of a window frame. The blind mechanism is designed to slot into this bracket.
Top Tip
Top-fixing or face-fixing are recommended for most installations. Side-fixing is only recommended if the width was taken right at the top of the recess.
Fitting the blind
Diagram shows the blind roller mechanism being inserted into a bracket. The pin-end of the blind is placed into the central hole of one bracket. The control end, featuring rectangular lugs, is then lifted and slotted into the corresponding opening of the other bracket.
Charging the Motor
Once your blind is installed, we recommend plugging in the motor to allow it to fully charge before use. Plug the charging cable (included) into the motor charging port and allow to charge until the LED on the charger plug turns green.
SmartView App
On the front of the swing tag that comes with your blind, you will find a handy QR code. Scan this with your phone to download the SmartView app and set up your blinds in moments. Follow the instructions in the app, then flip the label to find the blind ID to add your blind.
Child Safety
Not applicable for SmartView Roller Blinds
⚠ WARNING
Young children can be strangled by loops in pull cords, chains, tapes, and inner cords that operate the product.
To avoid strangulation and entanglement, keep cords out of the reach of young children. Cords may become wrapped around a child's neck.
Move beds, cots, and furniture away from window covering cords.
Do not tie cords together. Make sure cords do not twist and create a loop.
Cord Retaining Device Installation
The cord retaining device must be installed at the maximum distance possible from the control mechanism to prevent looped cords from becoming slack.
Place the retaining device on the wall and mark the position of the screw hole(s) with a pencil.
Attach the retaining device to the wall using the fixings provided.
Control location
The controls will have been positioned where requested during the ordering process. However, if you decide to swap the side they are on, the controls can be removed by simply unplugging them from the tube.
