Installing the IQFX 16" (4232) Introduction
- Before you start: Do not dispose of packaging until all parts and fittings (listed on Page 6) are checked. Parts are packed inside and down the side of the fire. Refer to Page 8 for removing Box 3.
- If parts are missing, contact BE MODERN HELPLINE: 0191 430 0901.
- Recycle packaging responsibly.
- Ensure you have the right tools, space, and a clean dry working area.
- Protect the working surface to prevent damage to the fire surround, fire, or floor.
- IMPORTANT: If routing the power cable to the rear, take care not to crush or damage it when positioning the fire.
Removing the Glass/ Parts & Fixings Inside The Fire
Box 3 is located behind the front glass. The glass must be removed first.
- Remove the 3 screws holding the glass retaining bracket. (See Diagram 2)
- Note: Support the glass with your free hand while removing the bracket.
- Once the bracket is removed, angle the glass out from the bottom, past the ledge, and lower it out of the top groove.
- Note: Place the glass safely aside to avoid damage until refitting after the fuel bed is added.
- Carefully remove the cardboard box behind the screen (See Diagram 3) and set aside.
Diagram 2 shows the 3 screws for the glass retaining bracket. Diagram 3 shows the cardboard box behind the screen.
Installing the IQFX 16" Fire
- Locate the Clamping Bracket and Screws from Box 2.
- Screw the back panel clamp bracket to the top of the fire using 3x 10mm Dome Head Screws. (See Diagram 4) There are three mounting positions depending on back panel thickness. The middle fixing is for 18mm/20mm panels, and the rear fixing is for 38mm/40mm panels.
- The bracket may need to be bent by hand to fit. Note: The bracket is designed to prevent the fire falling forward and may not be a tight fit.
- Position the back panel clamp bracket under the back panel at an angle, ensuring not to trap the power cable. (See Diagram 5) Note: Avoid scratching the hearth during installation.
- Once the fire's lower rear edge clears the hearth, stand the fire upright and ease it back into the cut-out.
- Apply light pressure to the fire to overcome the clamp's spring effect and move it fully into place. The bracket will then secure the fire.
- To remove the fire, lift it vertically and angle it out of the back panel cut-out from the bottom.
Diagram 4 shows back panel clamp bracket mounting options. Diagram 5 shows positioning the fire with the clamp bracket. Diagram 6 illustrates fire removal.

- With the fire securely installed, unpack the separately supplied fire trim.
- If applicable, remove the trim's protective cover.
- Position the 4x 10mm diameter magnets to the rear of the trim in the indicated positions. (Diagram 10)
- Turn the trim to the front, drop the bottom trim louver down, place the last 10mm magnet on the rear centre top of the louver, and push back to contact the upper louver tab. (Diagram 10)
- Place the trim over the fire, allowing magnets to contact the fire body to secure it. (Diagram 11)
- This completes the installation of the IQFX 16" trim. (Diagram 12)
For Voice, Manual, Remote, and APP Control instructions, see pages 13-33.
