Product Comparison
Comparison of Peer Product Gaps: The ANENG ST212 offers a significant advantage over older models. Traditional meters often feature a non-backlit screen, leading to low visibility and accuracy (❌). In contrast, the ST212 boasts a high-definition color screen with 6000 counts, ensuring high precision and a more professional user experience (✔️).
400A Non-Contact Clamp Head
The ANENG ST212 features a robust 400A current non-contact clamp head with a 31.5mm/1.24in caliber. This design allows for high precision AC and DC current measurements and is suitable for clamping around various wire sizes.
NCV Non-Contact Induction Measurement
The Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) function allows for safe detection of live AC voltage. To use, press and hold the NCV measurement button. When the clamp head detects nearby AC voltage, the red LED indicator will flash, and an audible buzzer will sound.
VA Color Reverse Display
The meter is equipped with a high-definition VA color reverse display. This screen provides clear handwriting, excellent readability, and clear backlighting, supporting up to 6000 counts. It displays readings such as '-8.8.8.8' and '-6.0.0.0'.
Flashlight Function
A built-in flashlight can be activated by long-pressing the dedicated button. This feature is useful for illuminating the measurement area in dark environments.
Power Saving Features
The ANENG ST212 includes a low power consumption mode. To conserve battery life, the clamp multimeter will automatically shut down if it is not used within 15 minutes after being turned on.
Automotive and Fan DC Current Measurement
Automotive DC Current Measurement: With its 400A high current capability, the clamp meter can accurately measure the DC current of automotive components, such as car batteries (example reading: '05.29'), as well as DC currents in TV and audio systems.
Fan DC Current Test: The meter is also suitable for measuring DC current in smaller devices, like a fan (example reading: '01.02').
Measurement Examples and Applications
The ANENG ST212 is versatile for various electrical testing scenarios:
- AC Voltage Measurement: Adjust to the corresponding gear and measure with a test pen. Example reading: 5003 23.96V.
- DC Voltage Measurement: Adjust to DC voltage mode to measure battery voltage. Example reading: 0823 11.45V.
- Diode Measurement: Place test pens in contact with the light-emitting diodes. Example reading: 0023 2.056V.
- Resistance Measurement: Place test pens in contact with the resistance. Example reading: 0023 0.987 Ω.
- Capacitance Measurement: Connect test leads to the capacitor. Example reading: 0022 9.784 µF.
- On-Off Measurement: Test for continuity. A flashing LED and buzzer indicate a closed circuit. Example reading: 0023 0.035 Ω.
- Live Wire Detection: Insert the test lead into the designated hole; a flashing red light and buzzer indicate a live wire.
- Zero Line Detection: Insert the test lead into another hole; no flicker or buzzer indicates a zero line.
- Non-Contact Measurement (NCV): Long press the NCV button. When voltage is detected, the red LED flashes and a buzzer sounds. Example display: 'EF'.
- Temperature Measurement: Switch to the temperature range, connect the thermocouple, and measure temperature. Example reading: 2073 008 (°C/°F).

AC Current Measurement Guidelines
When measuring AC current, ensure the wire being measured is placed precisely in the center of the clamp jaw to avoid length errors and ensure accuracy.
Important Limitation: AC current measurement is limited to a single core line (either the zero line or the fire line). It cannot be used to measure multi-core power supply lines commonly found in household appliances, as these contain multiple wires.
Range Selection Advice
Before taking a measurement, it is recommended to estimate the expected current value and select the appropriate range on the multimeter. If the current value is unknown, start with the maximum range. The range can then be reduced appropriately based on the measured value. Note that the range cannot be converted while a measurement is actively being taken.
