Special Functions

Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection

  • The NCV function detects AC voltage without direct contact with the conductor.
  • When AC voltage is detected, the meter will beep, and the display will show "EF".
  • The sensitivity is adjustable, indicated by the frequency of the beeps.
  • This function provides a convenient and safe way to check for voltage presence.

Relative Value (REL) Function

  • The REL button allows setting a reference value for measurements.
  • Subsequent readings are displayed relative to this set reference value.
  • Press the REL button again to exit REL mode.
  • Press and hold the REL button for 2 seconds to clear the reference value.

Operating Instructions

General Operation

  1. Select the desired measurement function and range using the function dial.
  2. Connect the test leads to the appropriate jacks (COM and the relevant measurement jack).
  3. Perform the measurement.

NCV Detection Operation

  1. Select the NCV function using the dial or button.
  2. Bring the jaw of the clamp meter near the conductor to be tested.
  3. The meter will beep and display "EF" if AC voltage is detected.

AC/DC Voltage and Millivolt Measurement

  1. Select the appropriate DC V, AC V, DC mV, or AC mV function.
  2. Connect the red test lead to the V jack and the black test lead to the COM jack.
  3. Connect the test leads to the circuit under test.
  4. Read the measurement on the LCD display.
  5. Note: Ensure the input voltage does not exceed 600V. For millivolt ranges, the display shows "OL" if the reading exceeds the maximum value.

AC/DC Current Measurement

  1. Select the appropriate AC A or DC A function.
  2. Open the jaws of the clamp meter.
  3. Clamp the jaws around the conductor carrying the current to be measured. Ensure the conductor is centered within the jaws for accuracy.
  4. Read the measurement on the LCD display.
  5. Note: Ensure the current does not exceed 600A.

Resistance Measurement

  1. Select the resistance (Ω) function.
  2. Connect the red test lead to the Ω jack and the black test lead to the COM jack.
  3. Connect the test leads to the component or circuit under test.
  4. Note: Ensure the circuit is de-energized and any capacitors are discharged before measuring resistance.

Continuity Test

  1. Select the continuity function (indicated by a buzzer symbol).
  2. Connect the test leads to the COM and Ω jacks.
  3. Connect the test leads to the circuit under test.
  4. If the resistance is less than approximately 50Ω, the buzzer will sound, indicating continuity.
  5. Note: Ensure the circuit is de-energized.

Capacitance Measurement

  1. Select the capacitance (F) function.
  2. Connect the red test lead to the F jack and the black test lead to the COM jack.
  3. Connect the test leads to the capacitor terminals.
  4. Note: Ensure the capacitor is discharged before measurement.

Temperature Measurement

  1. Connect the K-Type thermocouple to the V/Ω and COM jacks.
  2. Select the temperature (°C/°F) function.
  3. Press the "C/F" button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit readings.
  4. Place the tip of the thermocouple probe on the object to be measured.
  5. Note: The K-Type thermocouple is required for this measurement.

Frequency Measurement

  1. Select the frequency (Hz) function.
  2. Connect the red test lead to the V jack and the black test lead to the COM jack.
  3. Connect the test leads to the signal source.
  4. Note: The input voltage for frequency measurement should be between 40V and 1000V.
