[Connects2 logo] ...connecting to the aftermarket
Model Numbers: CTVADX005, CTVBMX005, CTVMC001, CTVPO001
Introduction
This document provides installation and operation instructions for the Connects2 AUX-In Interface. This interface allows users to connect an audio source to compatible vehicle audio systems.
Compatible Vehicle Systems:
- Audi MMI3G basic/high
- BMW Professional radio, Business and Professional navigation systems (CCC, CIC) with iDrive
- Mercedes Benz Audio5, Audio20, APS50, Comand APS NTG1/NTG2
- Porsche PCM 2.0 and 2.1
1. Prior to Installation
Read this manual thoroughly before proceeding with installation. Technical knowledge is required. Ensure the installation location is free from moisture and heat sources.
1.1. Delivery Contents
The package includes the AUX-In Interface box and associated wiring. Record the SW-version and HW-version of the interface box for support purposes.

1.2. Check Compatibility of Vehicle and Accessories
Requirements
Navigation/Radio Systems:
- Audi MMI 3G basic/high (excluding A1 models)
- BMW Professional radio, Business and Professional navigation systems (CCC, CIC) with iDrive
- Mercedes Audio5, Audio20, APS50, Comand APS NTG1/NTG2
- Porsche PCM2.0, PCM2.1
Limitations
Condition | Notes |
---|---|
Factory CD-changer | On Audi vehicles, an additional factory CD-changer can be installed. For BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche, existing factory CD-changers must be removed. |
BMW without MOST®-components | If a factory CD-changer was never installed, the head-unit may require coding to CD-changer functionality via a diagnosis computer or an OBD-xxx-CD-xx activator. |
Mercedes/Porsche without MOST®-components | The MOST®-ring requires activation via a diagnosis computer. |
2. Installation
Safety First: Switch off ignition and disconnect the vehicle's battery before starting installation.
The interface requires a permanent 12V power source. If the power source is not directly from the battery, ensure it is proven to be start-up safe and permanent.
Installation on BMW or Mercedes vehicles is analogous to the examples provided for Audi and Porsche.
2.1. Vehicle Selection (Blue Wire)
- Audi, Mercedes, or Porsche: The blue wire is not connected and must be isolated.
- BMW: Connect the blue wire constantly to ground (GND).
2.2. Installation Example: Audi MMI 3G
Remove the MOST®-connector from the rear of the factory CD changer. Integrate the Interface according to the provided schema, observing the arrows on the MOST®-connectors and the order of components.
Connect the black wire to ground (GND) and the red wire to a permanent +12V source. Isolate the blue wire.
[Wiring diagram illustrating connections: Black wire to Ground (GND), Red wire to +12V permanent, and Blue wire to be isolated.]
2.3. Installation Example: Porsche Cayenne PCM 2.1
Remove the plastic cover. Unscrew the four torx screws and carefully pull out the head-unit from the dashboard.
[Image showing the Porsche head unit being removed from the dashboard.]
Remove the MOST®-connector from the rear of the factory CD changer and integrate the Interface according to the schema, observing the arrows on the MOST®-connectors.
Connect the black wire to ground and the red wire to permanent +12V. Isolate the blue wire.

2.4. Exception: Vehicles without Optical Lead Components (BMW)
For vehicles without MOST®-components (e.g., no factory CDC, no factory phone, or other MOST® devices), optical leads may be present at the navigation computer. If the optical ring is not closed at the diagnostic connector in the glove compartment, a connector bridge for the optical wires is necessary.
2.5. Exception: Vehicles without Optical Lead Components (Mercedes/Porsche)
The MOST®-ring (optical) needs to be opened or activated via a diagnosis computer.
3. Operation
The interface emulates a factory CD changer and is recognized as such by the vehicle's head unit. The Aux input is activated by playing "CD1" on the head unit.
Note for Audi Vehicles: If a factory CD changer is already installed, the interface will emulate a second factory CD changer. To activate the Aux input, play "CD7" on the head unit.
