Device Care

Handle the device, battery, charger, and accessories with care. The following suggestions will help you keep your device operational.

During prolonged operation, the device may heat up. In most cases, this is normal. To prevent overheating, the device may automatically slow down, some applications may close, charging may be deactivated, and if necessary, it may shut down. If the device is not functioning correctly, take it to the nearest authorized service center.

Recycling

♻️ [Recycling] Always take electronic products, batteries, and packaging materials to specific collection points. This helps prevent uncontrolled waste disposal and promotes material recycling. For information on the nearest recycling point, consult your local waste authority or read about HMD's recovery program and its availability in your country at www.hmd.com/phones/support/topics/recycle.

Battery and Charger Information

To check if the phone's battery is removable or not, consult the printed guide.

Battery and Charger Safety Information

Once your device is fully charged, unplug the charger from the device and the power outlet. Note that continuous charging should not exceed 12 hours. If a fully charged battery is not used, it will lose its charge over time.

Extreme temperatures reduce battery capacity and lifespan. Try to keep the battery between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F) for optimal performance. A device with a battery that is too cold or too hot may not function temporarily. Note that the battery may deplete faster in low temperatures, and the battery may lose enough charge to turn off the phone within minutes. When outdoors in cold temperatures, keep the phone warm.

Comply with local regulations. Recycle whenever possible. Do not dispose of them in domestic waste.

Do not expose the battery to extremely low air pressure or excessively high temperatures, such as throwing it into a fire for disposal, as this may cause the battery to explode or leak flammable liquid or gas.

Do not disassemble, cut, crush, bend, puncture, or otherwise damage the battery. If leaks are observed in the battery, prevent the liquid from coming into contact with eyes or skin. If contact has occurred, immediately clean the affected skin or eyes with water, or seek medical assistance. Do not modify or attempt to insert foreign objects into the battery; do not immerse it or expose it to water or other liquids. Batteries can explode if damaged.

Use the battery and charger only for their intended purposes. Improper use or the use of unapproved or incompatible batteries or chargers may pose risks of fire, explosion, or other hazards, as well as invalidate any approval or warranty. If you believe the battery or charger is damaged, take it to a service center or the phone's distributor before continuing to use it. Never use a damaged charger or battery. Do not use the charger outdoors. Do not charge the device during an electrical storm. When the charger is not included in the sales package, charge your device using the data cable (included) and a USB power adapter (may be sold separately). You can charge your device with third-party power cables and adapters that comply with USB 2.0 or later and applicable national and international safety standards. Other adapters may not comply with applicable safety standards, and charging with such adapters could pose a risk of property loss or personal injury.

To disconnect chargers or accessories, hold the connector and pull it, not the cable. Additionally, if the device has a removable battery, the following considerations apply:

Children

The device and its accessories are not toys. They may contain small parts. Keep them out of reach of small children.

Medical Devices

Radio transmission equipment, including mobile phones, can interfere with the operation of medical devices that are not adequately protected. Consult a doctor or the medical device manufacturer to determine if it is adequately protected against external radiation.

Implanted Medical Devices

To avoid potential interference, manufacturers of implanted medical devices (e.g., pacemakers, insulin pumps, or neurostimulators) recommend maintaining a minimum separation distance of 15.3 centimeters (6 inches) between a wireless device and the medical device. People with such devices should:

If you have any doubts about using the wireless device with an implanted medical device, consult your medical product provider.

Hearing

⚠️ Warning: When using a portable device, the ability to hear sounds in open spaces may be affected. Do not use headphones in circumstances that could endanger your safety.

Some wireless devices may interfere with certain hearing aids.

Protecting the Device Against Harmful Content

The device may be exposed to viruses and other harmful content. Be careful when opening messages. They may contain malicious or harmful software for the device.

Vehicles

Radio signals can affect the electronic systems of vehicles that are not properly installed or protected. For more information, consult your vehicle or equipment manufacturer. Devices should only be installed in a vehicle by authorized personnel. Incorrect installation can be dangerous and void the warranty. Regularly check that your vehicle's mobile device equipment is correctly mounted and functions properly. Do not store or transport flammable or explosive materials in the same compartment as the device, its parts, or accessories. Do not place the device or accessories over an airbag deployment zone.

Potentially Explosive Environments

Switch off the device in environments with potentially explosive elements, such as near gasoline pumps. A spark could cause an explosion or fire that could cause physical injury or death. Respect restrictions in areas with fuels, chemical facilities, or where explosions occur. Areas with a potentially explosive environment may not be clearly indicated. These areas include places where you are told to switch off the vehicle engine, under the deck of boats, in chemical transfer or storage facilities, and where the atmosphere contains chemicals or particles such as grains, dust, or metallic powders. Consult with manufacturers of vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane) to see if this device can be used safely near these vehicles.

Certification Information

This mobile device complies with mobile radio signal exposure guidelines. Your mobile device is a transmitter and receiver of mobile radio signals. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to mobile radio signals (radiofrequency electromagnetic fields) recommended by the international guidelines of the independent scientific organization ICNIRP. These guidelines incorporate considerable safety margins to ensure the protection of all persons, regardless of age and health. Exposure guidelines are based on the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which is an expression of the amount of radiofrequency (RF) power deposited in the head or body when the device is transmitting. The ICNIRP SAR limit for mobile devices is 2.0 W/kg averaged over 10 grams of tissue.

SAR tests are performed with the device in standard operating positions, transmitting at its highest certified power level, in all frequency bands. This device complies with RF exposure guidelines when used next to the head or when kept at a minimum distance of 1.5 centimeters (5/8 inches) from the body. When carrying the mobile phone in a holster, with a belt clip, or other wearable support, these should not be made of metal and should ensure at least the specified body separation distance.

To send data or messages, a good network connection is required. Sending may be delayed until a connection of this nature is available. Follow the separation distance instructions until the transmission is complete.

During general use, SAR values are usually well below the values indicated above. This is because your mobile device's operating power is reduced when full power is not needed to make the call. This increases system efficiency and minimizes network interference. The lower the power output, the lower the SAR value.

Device models may have different versions and more than one value. Over time, component and design changes may occur, some of which could affect SAR values.

For more information, visit www.sar-tick.com. Note that mobile devices may be transmitting signals even when you are not making a voice call.

The World Health Organization (WHO) states that current scientific information does not indicate the need for any special precautions during the use of mobile devices. If you wish to reduce your exposure, we recommend limiting your use or using a hands-free kit to keep the device away from your head and body. For more information, explanations, and discussions on RF exposure, visit the WHO website at www.who.int/health-topics/electromagnetic-fields#tab=tab_1.

Consult www.hmd.com/sar for the device's maximum SAR value.
