TAKE CARE OF YOUR DEVICE

Handle the device, battery, charger, and accessories with care. The following advice helps to ensure that the device functions properly.

During extended use, the device may feel warm. In most cases, this is normal. To prevent it from getting too hot, the device may automatically reduce its speed, close apps, or turn off charging. It may also turn itself off if necessary. If the device is not functioning as it should, take it to the nearest authorised service centre.

RECYCLE

Always return used electronic products, batteries, and packaging to a designated collection point. By returning products to collection points, you help to prevent uncontrolled disposal and promote the reuse of material resources. BATTERY AND CHARGER INFORMATION

Battery and charger information

To find out if your phone has a removable battery or not, see the printed user guide.

Devices with a removable battery

The device must only be used with an original, rechargeable battery. The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but it will eventually wear out. When talk and standby times are noticeably shorter than normal, you should replace the battery.

Devices with non-removable batteries

Do not try to remove the battery, as this may damage the device. The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but it will eventually wear out. When talk and standby times are noticeably shorter than normal, you should replace the battery at the nearest authorised service centre.

Charge the device with a compatible charger. The type of plug on the charger may vary. Charging time may vary depending on the device capacity.

Safety information for battery and charger

Remove the charger from the device and the power outlet when charging is complete. Note that continuous charging should not exceed 12 hours. If a fully charged battery is not used, it will discharge over time.

Extreme temperatures reduce battery capacity and lifespan. Always try to store the battery at a temperature between 15°C and 25°C to ensure the device functions optimally. If the battery is too hot or too cold, the device may not function for a short period. Note that the battery may rapidly lose power in cold temperatures and lose enough power to turn off the phone within minutes. Keep the phone warm when you are outdoors in cold temperatures.

Obey local regulations. Recycle where possible. Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.

The battery must not be exposed to extremely low air pressure or extremely high temperatures, such as by attempting to burn it. This may cause it to explode or leak flammable liquid or gas.

Do not disassemble, cut, crush, bend, puncture, or otherwise damage the battery. If the battery leaks, do not allow the liquid to come into contact with skin or eyes. If this happens, rinse your skin or eyes with clean water or contact a doctor. Do not modify, try to insert foreign objects into the battery, or immerse it in or expose it to water or other liquids. Batteries may explode if they are damaged.

Use the battery and charger only for their intended purposes. Incorrect use or use of unapproved or incompatible batteries or chargers may pose a risk of fire, explosion, or other hazards, and may void any approval or warranty. If you think the battery or charger is damaged, take it to a service centre or phone dealer before continuing to use it. Never use a damaged charger or battery. The charger should only be used indoors. Do not charge the device during a thunderstorm. When a charger is not included in the sales package, charge the device with the supplied data cable and a USB power adapter (sold separately). You can charge the device with third-party cables and power adapters that are compatible with USB 2.0 or later, and with applicable national regulations and international and regional safety standards. Other adapters may not meet applicable safety standards. If the device is charged with such adapters, it may lead to loss of functionality or personal injury. When disconnecting a charger or accessory, hold the connector and pull it out, not the cord.

Additionally, for devices with a removable battery:

SMALL CHILDREN

The device and its accessories are not toys. They may contain small parts. Keep parts out of reach of small children.

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT

The use of radio transmitters, including mobile phones, may interfere with medical equipment that is not adequately protected. Consult a doctor or the medical equipment manufacturer to determine if the equipment is adequately protected against external RF energy.

IMPLANTED MEDICAL EQUIPMENT

To avoid possible interference, manufacturers of implanted medical equipment (such as pacemakers, insulin pumps, and neurostimulators) recommend that there always be at least 15.3 centimetres between a wireless device and the medical equipment. People who have such equipment should:

If you have questions about using your wireless device with implanted medical equipment, contact your doctor or other healthcare professional.

HEARING

Warning: If you use headphones, it may affect your ability to hear external sounds. Do not use headphones in situations where it may pose a safety risk. Some wireless devices may interfere with some hearing aids.

PROTECT THE DEVICE FROM HARMFUL CONTENT

The device may be exposed to viruses and other harmful content. Be careful when opening messages. They may contain malicious software or damage the device.

VEHICLES

Radio signals may affect electronic systems in vehicles if they are incorrectly installed or not adequately shielded. You can request further information from the vehicle manufacturer or equipment manufacturer. Only authorised personnel should install the device in vehicles. Incorrect installation may be dangerous and may void the warranty. Regularly check that all wireless device equipment is correctly fitted in the vehicle and functions as it should. Flammable or explosive liquids, gases, or substances must not be stored together with the device, parts of it, or accessories. Do not place the device or accessories in the area where the airbag is deployed.

POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERES

Switch off the device when you are in an area with an explosion hazard, such as near petrol pumps. Sparks can cause an explosion or fire, which can result in personal injury or loss of life. Obey restrictions in areas with fuels, at chemical plants, or where blasting is in progress. Areas with an explosion hazard are not always clearly marked. This usually includes areas where you are advised to turn off the engine, on board boats, at facilities for tapping or storing chemicals, and in areas where the air contains chemicals or particles. Contact the manufacturer of vehicles that use liquefied petroleum gas (for example, propane or butane) to check if this device can be safely used near the vehicle.

CERTIFICATE INFORMATION

This mobile device complies with radio wave exposure guidelines. The wireless device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves (electromagnetic fields with radio frequency), as recommended by international guidelines from the independent scientific organisation ICNIRP. These guidelines contain significant safety margins intended to ensure the protection of all persons, regardless of age and health. The exposure guidelines are based on the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which is an expression of the amount of radio frequency (RF) power absorbed in the head or body when the device transmits. The SAR limit for mobile devices to ICNIRP is 2.0 W/kg averaged over 10 grams of tissue.

SAR tests are performed with the device in standard operating positions, transmitting at its highest certified power level, in all frequency bands. This device complies with RF radiation guidelines when used against the head, or when placed at least 1.5 cm from the body. When using a carrying case, belt clip, or other type of device holder for carrying the phone on the body, it should not contain metal and should provide at least the above distance from the body. Sending data or messages requires a good network connection. Sending may be delayed until a good connection is available. Follow the distance instructions until the sending is complete.

Under general use, SAR values are usually well below the values indicated above. This is because the power of the mobile device is automatically reduced when there is no need for full power for a call, to improve system efficiency and reduce network interference. The lower the power output, the lower the SAR value.

Device models may have different versions and more than one value. Component and design changes may occur over time, and certain changes may affect SAR values. For more information, go to www.sar-tick.com. Note that mobile devices can transmit even if you are not making a voice call.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that current scientific information shows no need for any special precautions when using mobile devices. If you are interested in reducing exposure, it is recommended that you limit your use or use a hands-free device to keep the device away from your head and body. For more information and discussions on RF exposure, visit the WHO website at www.who.int/health-topics/electromagnetic-fields#tab=tab_1. See www.hmd.com/sar for maximum SAR values for the device.
