Guardian AquaGuard™ Gravity-Fed Eyewash Units

Operating Instructions

1. Assist injured patient to the nearest eyewash station. Seconds can make a difference in the extent of eye damage and injury.
2. Activate eyewash stream by pulling down on the yellow activating panel.
3. Lower head until the eyes enter the eyewash stream. Hold eyelids open with the thumb and the forefingers.
4. Flush for 15 minutes. Seek qualified medical attention immediately.

Filling Instructions

Clean, rinse and partially fill station with potable water. Add one eight ounce bottle of bacteriostatic additive to prevent bacteria growth in the eyewash tank. Continue to fill eyewash tank to 1/8 inch below overflow point.

It is recommended the eyewash be cleaned using hot water, 140°F (60°C) or hotter, and the water be replaced at a minimum of every six months. It is further recommended the eyewash be inspected weekly for inadequate water level. Inspections which give evidence of any particulation or discoloration suggest the water be replaced immediately.

Notes

• All employees must be instructed in the use of this emergency eyewash station.
• Inspect unit for proper operation weekly.
