- For safety, always wear a helmet that meets CPSC or CE safety standards. A helmet can protect from serious injury or death in an accident.
- Obey all local traffic laws: lights, one-way streets, stop signs, pedestrian crosswalks, etc.
- Ride with traffic, not against it.
- Ride defensively; expect the unexpected.
- Give pedestrians the right-of-way.
- Do not ride too close to pedestrians; alert them if passing from behind.
- Slow down at intersections and look left and right before crossing.
Your Beast is not equipped with reflectors. Riding in low visibility conditions is not recommended.
WARNING: In low-visibility conditions (fog, dusk, night), you may be difficult to see, potentially leading to a collision. Keep your headlight on and wear bright, reflective clothing.
Think about safety when riding to prevent accidents. Below is a helpful checklist for riders.

Riding Your Beast
WARNING: Failure to follow safety precautions can lead to device damage, voided warranty, property damage, serious bodily injury, and death.
Before using, familiarize yourself with operating procedures.
Operating Your Device
Ensure the device is fully charged before initial use. For charging instructions, see "CHARGING YOUR BEAST".
Stand directly behind your device and place one foot on the foot mat. Keep weight on the foot on the ground; otherwise, the device may move or vibrate, making it difficult to step on evenly with the other foot. When ready, shift weight to the foot on the device and step on with the second foot quickly and evenly.
Diagram illustrating the process of stepping onto the Hover-1 Beast.
NOTES: Stay relaxed and step on quickly, confidently, and evenly. Imagine climbing stairs. Look up once feet are even. The Beast may vibrate or spin if weight/pressure is applied to only one foot mat. This is normal.
Find your center of gravity. With weight distributed correctly and center of gravity level, you should be able to stand as if on the ground. It takes about 3-5 minutes to get comfortable standing and maintaining balance. A spotter can help you feel more secure. The Beast is intuitive and senses slight motion; anxiety or reservation can cause panic and unwanted movement.
To move, focus on your desired direction. Thinking about where you want to go shifts your center of gravity, propelling you. Your center of gravity determines movement, acceleration, deceleration, and stopping. Tilt your center of gravity in the direction you wish to move.
To turn, focus on the direction and stay relaxed.
WARNING: Do not turn sharply or at high speeds to avoid danger. Do not turn or ride quickly along slopes, as it may cause injury.
As you become comfortable, maneuvering becomes easier. At higher speeds, shift weight to overcome centrifugal force. Bend knees for bumps or uneven surfaces, then dismount and carry the Beast to a safe operating surface.

Dismounting Your Device
NOTES: Stay relaxed and focus on your center of gravity for control.
Dismounting can be easy but incorrect dismounting may cause falls. From a stopped position, lift one leg and place it back on the ground (STEPPING BACK). Then step off completely.
WARNING: Lift your leg completely off the foot mat to clear the device when stepping back to dismount. Failure to do so may send the Beast into a tailspin.
Weight and Speed Limitations
Speed and weight limits are for your safety. Do not exceed these limits:
- Maximum Weight: 330 lbs
- Minimum Weight: 44 lbs
- Maximum Speed: Up to 7.45 mph
WARNING: Overweight exertion may increase the possibility of injury or product damage.
NOTES: To prevent injury, when max speed is reached, the Beast will beep to alert the user and tilt the rider slowly back.
Operating Range
The Beast can travel up to 8.4 miles on a full charge in ideal conditions. Factors affecting operating range include:
- Terrain: Riding distance is highest on smooth, flat surfaces. Uphill or rough terrain reduces distance.
- Weight: Lighter users have further range than heavier users.
- Ambient temperature: Ride and store the device under recommended temperatures for increased driving distance, battery life, and performance.
- Speed and Riding Style: Moderate, consistent speed maximizes distance. High speeds, frequent starts/stops, idling, and frequent acceleration/deceleration decrease distance.
Balance & Calibration
If your Beast is unbalanced, vibrating, or not turning properly, calibrate it using these steps:
- Place the Beast on a flat, horizontal surface. Foot mats should be even and not tilted. Ensure the charger is unplugged and the board is off.
- Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 15 seconds. The scooter will turn on, lighting the battery indicator.
- Turn the board off, then turn it back on. Press the power button twice. Calibration is complete.
Safety Alerts
If there is a system error or illegal operation, the device will alert the user. The Running Indicator Light will turn RED, and a beep sound will alert you to take precaution and cease operation, potentially causing the device to stop suddenly.
These alerts should not be ignored. Take appropriate action to correct any illegal operation, failure, or errors.
- Unsafe riding surfaces (uneven, too steep, unsafe, etc.).
- Platform tilted more than 17 degrees forward or backward when stepping on.
- Battery voltage is too low.
- Device is still charging.
- Platform self-tilts due to excess speed during operation.
- Overheating or motor temperature is too high.
- Device has been rocking back and forth for over 30 seconds.
- If the system enters protection mode, the alarm indicator lights up and the board vibrates (usually when the battery is low).
- If the platform is tilted forward or backward more than 17 degrees, the Beast will power off and stop suddenly, possibly causing the rider to lose balance or fall off.
- If any or both tires are blocked, the device stops after 2 seconds.
- When battery level depletes below protection mode, the device engine powers off and stops after 15 seconds.
- While sustaining high discharge current (e.g., driving up a steep slope for a long period), the device engine powers off and stops after 15 seconds.
WARNING: When the Beast turns off during a Safety Alert, all operations halt. Do not continue riding. Turn your Beast off and back on to unlock it from a Safety Lock.
Charging Your Beast
Charging the Device
- Ensure the charging port is clean and dry. No dust, debris, or dirt inside the port.
- Plug the charger into a grounded wall outlet. The charging indicator light ON THE CHARGER will be green.
- Connect the cable with the power supply (100V ~ 240V; 50/60 Hz).
