This document provides installation and safety instructions for the Paulmann TUBS outdoor wall light series.
Model 946.48 (with PRI sensor)
Features a built-in motion sensor (PRI sensor).
Model 946.49 (without PRI sensor)
Requires an external motion sensor or switch.
Both models support an E27 bulb, maximum 15W, and are rated IP44 for outdoor use. Mounting hardware is included.
Installation Guide
Step A: Mounting the Base
Securely attach the mounting bracket to the wall or desired surface.
Step B: Prepare Mounting Holes
If necessary, break the pre-defined mounting holes on the bracket to accommodate your installation.
Step C: Mount the Fixture
Attach the main fixture body to the prepared mounting bracket. Ensure correct orientation (↑UP).
Follow Safety Instructions: Nr. 1-7, 10. The fixture is IP44 rated.
Step D: Wiring
Connect the electrical supply wires. The diagram shows cable entry points suitable for 7mm and 14mm cables.

Step E: Install Bulb and Close Fixture
Install the appropriate E27 light bulb (max. 15W). Close the fixture securely.
A checkmark (✔️) indicates correct installation; a cross (❌) indicates an error.
Step F: Bulb Specification
Use an E27 bulb with a maximum power of 15W.
Sensor Settings (Model 946.48)
The model 946.48 features an integrated motion sensor with adjustable settings.
Motion Detection Range
Detection range is up to 8 meters with a 120° detection angle.
Time Adjustment
The duration the light stays on after motion is detected can be adjusted from a minimum of 5 seconds to a maximum of 8 minutes.
Daylight Sensitivity
Adjust the lux level (e.g., 10 Lux) to control when the sensor activates. The light will activate only when ambient light is below the set threshold (e.g., <10 Lux).
Icons indicate actions: "move" (motion detected) and "leave" (no motion detected).
Recommended mounting height for optimal sensor performance: 1.5m - 2m.
Component Replaceability
The following components can be replaced without permanent damage to the luminaire:
- Component 1 (Light source) or Component 4 (Operating device) can be replaced by the end user.
- Component 2 (Light source) or Component 5 (Operating device) can be replaced by a qualified electrician.
- Component 3 (Light source) or Component 6 (Operating device) is not replaceable; the luminaire must be replaced.
Disposal Information
Old electrical appliances (♻️) must not be disposed of in household waste. They can be handed in at collection points of disposal organizations.
Old batteries (?) and rechargeable batteries (?), as well as lamps that can be removed from the old appliance without damage, must be separated from the old appliance before disposal at a collection point.
Retailers are obliged to take back this product free of charge. End-users of old appliances are responsible for deleting personal data on the old appliances to be disposed of.
