Safety Warnings
Before installing, it is crucial to read and follow all safety instructions. Failure to do so will invalidate the warranty and waive liability for Zaptec Charger AS and its partners. This equipment must only be installed, repaired, and maintained by qualified personnel. Repairs must be carried out by Zaptec or a pre-approved workshop. All applicable local, regional, and national laws and regulations must be followed. Do not install or use a damaged product. Avoid installing the charging station where it can be exposed to extreme temperatures, such as direct sunlight.
Installation
Step 1: Mount the Charging Station
Remove the front cover. Use the built-in spirit level to ensure the charging station is mounted straight on an open surface at the appropriate height. Components for mounting include screws and a wall mount bracket.
Step 2: Connect the Power Cable
The Zaptec Go 2 requires an upstream circuit breaker (as per local regulations) and a multipole RCD Type A (30 mA) or equivalent RCBO. For multiple charging stations or IT grid connections, consult help.zaptec.com.
Choose the entry point: top (H), back (I), or bottom (J - recommended). Drill the hole. Carefully pull the terminal cover downward to remove it.
Connect all wires firmly, pressing down all levers as shown. Ferrules are optional.
For 32 A installations, use an input wire cross-section of 6 mm². Fit the cable clamp and seals as necessary to secure the installation.
Replace the terminal cover and turn on the circuit breaker.
Note: Maximum torque for connections is 3 Nm max!
Step 3: Set up the Charging Station in the App
When powering up the Zaptec Go 2, a QR code appears on the display, linking to the installation page in the Zaptec app. Follow the app instructions to configure and activate the station.
- Select "1-phase only" to prevent automatic 3-1 phase switching.
- To add to an existing installation, select "Link to an existing installation" for automatic power sharing.
After app setup, the QR code disappears. MID mode displays for 30 seconds before switching to normal mode. To trigger MID mode while the QR code is displayed, insert and remove a charging handle twice within 5 seconds.
To set the maximum current without the app, turn the rotary switch from position 0 to the desired setting. This will prevent phase selection and limit charger functionality.
The rotary switch positions correspond to current settings: 0 (App control), 1 (6A), 2 (10A), 3 (13A), 4 (16A), 5 (20A), 6 (25A), 7 (32A).
Step 4: Finalize Installation
Replace the front cover and confirm that the status indicator [status indicator K] is white. After installation, use your Zaptec account to access settings via the app. From the Home screen, tap "Configure products" and enter the PIN.
Check if the charging station is online, update firmware, and test the RCD as required.
If the charging station was activated in the Zaptec app, the owner will be automatically notified.
