4. Flight Environment
- Please keep a certain distance between the XFLY and other objects when flying. Do not fly the XFLY near persons or animals.
- The XFLY is an indoor/outdoor flyer, but care should be taken in strong wind when flying.
- Keep the XFLY at least 5 ft away from you.
5. Signal Pairing
Follow these steps to pair the controller with the XFLY:
- Step 1: Connect the battery to the XFLY by inserting the power plug into the power socket on the XFLY. Then push the battery into the battery holder, ensuring it is fully inserted so it will not fall out while flying.
- Step 2: Lower the throttle joystick all the way down to the bottom. Then turn on the controller. To pair with the XFLY, raise the throttle joystick all the way up to the top, and then lower it all the way down to the bottom. The controller will make a beep sound, indicating successful pairing. The XFLY will lift into the air the next time you raise the joystick.
- Step 3: Always remove the battery from the XFLY after flying.
- Step 4: Remember to turn off the controller and remove all batteries if leaving it unused for a long period.
6. Flight Control
Place the XFLY on a flat, even surface, ensuring the light in front of the XFLY faces away from you. Make sure you and the drone are facing the same direction.
Ascending / Descending
When you push the throttle joystick up, the XFLY will start going up (↑). When you pull the throttle joystick down, it will start going down (↓). Please do this slowly at first until you learn the sensitivity of controlling.
Two diagrams showing the throttle joystick being pushed up for ascending (drone moving up ↑) and pulled down for descending (drone moving down ↓).
Yaw (Spinning)
When you turn the throttle joystick left, the XFLY will start spinning left. When you turn the throttle joystick right, it will start spinning right. Please do this slowly at first until you learn the sensitivity of controlling.
Two diagrams showing the throttle joystick being moved left for spinning left (drone rotating counter-clockwise) and right for spinning right (drone rotating clockwise).
Pitch (Forward/Backward)
When you push the direction joystick forward, the XFLY will start flying forward (↪). When you pull the direction joystick backward, it will start flying backward (↩). Please do this slowly at first until you learn the sensitivity of controlling.
Two diagrams showing the direction joystick being pushed forward for flying forward (drone moving forward ↪) and pulled backward for flying backward (drone moving backward ↩).
Roll (Left/Right Banking)
When you turn the direction joystick left, the XFLY will start banking left. When you turn the direction joystick right, it will start banking right. Please do this slowly at first until you learn the sensitivity of controlling.
Two diagrams showing the direction joystick being turned left for banking left (drone tilting left) and turned right for banking right (drone tilting right).
Tip: It will be much easier when you start to learn to fly the XFLY by ignoring spinning control. Keeping the LED light facing forward will give you a hand of direction controlling.
7. Trimming Your XFLY
Needed before first flight
When you lift your XFLY into the air by pushing up the throttle joystick, and press no other buttons nor direction joystick, your XFLY should be hovering over at one spot. If it doesn't, you need to follow the instructions below to bring your XFLY back to a perfect hover.
- If your XFLY banks to the left, keep pressing the Trim Right Button until your XFLY stops banking.
- If your XFLY banks to the right, keep pressing the Trim Left Button until your XFLY stops banking.
- If your XFLY flies backward, keep pressing the Trim Forwards Button until your XFLY stops flying backward.
- If your XFLY flies forward, keep pressing the Trim Backwards Button until your XFLY stops flying forward.
Illustrations showing how to use the trim buttons. If the drone banks left, press the Trim Right button. If it banks right, press the Trim Left button. If it flies backward, press the Trim Forwards button. If it flies forward, press the Trim Backwards button.
8. Resetting Trim
If you want to reset the XFLY back to its factory trim settings, you need to press and hold one of the Trim Buttons (e.g., Trim Left Button). If you hear a short beep sound the transmitter continually makes, followed by a long beep sound, release the button; you have reset it. If you only hear short beeps without a long beep, you need to press the opposite trim button until you hear the long beep. Repeat this process for all four trim buttons to reset the trim to the original factory setting.
9. Gyro Calibration
MAKE SURE IT'S DONE AFTER SIGNAL PAIRING.
Gyro calibration is necessary for a perfect flight. To calibrate the 6-Axis gyro, follow the instructions below:
Pull both the throttle and direction joysticks to the bottom right corner and hold them until you see the lights on the XFLY start blinking.

10. 360° Flip
- Make sure the XFLY is flying at least 10 ft above the ground and 10 ft below any ceilings.
- Press the flip button (press the direction joystick) once to activate 360° flip mode. A beep sound will be made by the transmitter.
- You now have a choice of directions to flip over. Push the direction joystick up for a forward flip, pull it down for a backward flip, turn it left for a left flip, and turn it right for a right flip.
- After a flip action, the controller will automatically reset back to the normal flying mode.

11. Speed Control
When you first connect to your XFLY, it will automatically be in speed 1 mode, which is the lowest speed and perfect for indoor flying. Press the speed control button (press the throttle joystick) to change the speed. The transmitter will make sounds to let you know which speed gear you have chosen:
- One short beep for speed 1.
- Two short beeps for speed 2.
- Three short beeps for speed 3, which is the highest speed and great for outdoor flying.
Learn to fly at the lowest speed, and then increase the speed rate after you have mastered all flying skills.
12. Replacing Props
Propellers are designed to come off after strong crashes to protect the XFLY from being destroyed. Propellers have two variations: type A and type B. Please install the props exactly as the image shows.
