  • Press the button for 2-3 seconds to turn on before flying.
  • Can be activated using AUX4 (SF Switch) channel.
  • Press the button for 2-3 seconds to turn off after disconnecting the main battery.

Eachine M8N GPS Rescue Function:

  • Before Arming: GPS must lock onto more than 6 satellites to establish the home position.
  • During Flight: Observe OSD data. Rescue function works normally only if the distance exceeds 100 meters; otherwise, the quad may crash.
  • Signal Loss: If the remote controller signal is lost, the GPS rescue function will automatically activate, returning the drone to the home position. The drone will not land automatically. Manual control is required once the signal is restored.
  • Activation: The GPS rescue function is not enabled by default via an auxiliary channel. It can be configured in the Betaflight configurator's 'Modes' tab.

5. Starting FPV Flight

  • Install the antenna to the radio and goggles.
  • Power on the radio and goggles. The Novice-IV is pre-bound to the radio and set to the correct video channel for the goggles.
  • Plug in the battery. Place the Novice-IV on a stable surface for calibration (takes a few seconds).
  • Fly in open areas, away from crowds and buildings.
  • Step 1: Install the battery into the radio (Picture A) and turn on the power switch. Press any key to skip any alarms (Picture B).
  • Step 2: Connect the battery to the Novice-IV drone and secure it properly with the LiPo strap.
  • Step 3: Turn on the EV800DM goggles. Check the video feed and OSD information. Ensure GPS has locked onto more than 6 satellites for the home position.
  • Step 4: Keep the throttle stick at its lowest point and toggle the SE switch to arm the Novice-IV drone. The goggles will display an "ARMED" notice. Fly safely.

6. Flight Modes

Toggle the SB switch to change flight modes. Default is Air Mode. Angle Mode is recommended for beginners. Motors will auto-spin when armed in Air Mode.

7. Charging the LiPo Battery

  • Radio Battery Charge: Connect the radio's charging cable.
  • Main Battery Charge: Connect the main battery to the charger.
  • Charging Process: After inserting the adapter, the charger emits a "drop" sound. The display shows battery voltage. Charging starts after two "drip-drip" sounds. The display cycles through voltage readings. Charging stops automatically when full, displaying "FULL" and flashing, with a buzzer sounding every five seconds.
  • Voltage Display: Inserting the battery (without connecting the adapter) shows the battery voltage.

8. Flight and Radio Stick Controls

Always fly with caution in open, controllable areas. Learn the flight controls before powering on the aircraft. The left stick controls throttle and yaw. The right stick controls pitch and roll.

  • Left Stick: Pushing up increases throttle (climb), pushing down decreases throttle (descend). Moving left or right controls yaw (nose left/right).
  • Right Stick: Pushing forward moves the drone forward (pitch up), pulling back moves it backward (pitch down). Moving left or right controls roll (roll left/right).

9. Flight Controller Connection Diagram

The flight controller has various connection points for motors, power, GPS, VTX, and receiver. Key connections include:

  • Power: 3-4S BAT +, GND
  • Motors: M1, M2, M3, M4 (with specific A, B, C designations for some)
  • GPS: VCC, GND, TX, RX
  • VTX: Video_out, GND, +5V, Smartaudio (on UART1)
  • Receiver: RX2 (for SBUS), GND, VCC, TX1
  • Other: LED_STRIP, BUZ-, BOOT

10. Binding Procedure

  • Press and hold the BIND button on the receiver, then plug in the USB to power it. The receiver's Red LED will become solid after approximately 3 seconds, indicating bind mode.
  • In the radio transmitter, select the Frsky D8 protocol from the Multi mode and press the [BIND] option. The receiver's Red LED will blink rapidly, indicating successful binding.
  • Unplug and replug the USB. A solid Red LED on the receiver confirms the connection with the radio is established.
  • LED Status Meanings: Solid: Normal operation or in Bind mode. Blinking: Bind successful. Turned off: No RC signal.

11. Receiver Configuration (Betaflight Configurator)

  • Ports Tab: Enable Serial RX for UART6.
  • Configuration Tab: Set Receiver Mode to "Serial-based receiver" and select "SBUS" as the Serial Receiver Provider.
