USER MANUAL - M7 Pro

Thank you for choosing Midea! Before using your new Midea product, please read this manual thoroughly to ensure that you know how to operate the features and functions that your new appliance offers in a safe way.

Safety Instructions

Warning for the machine:

  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8+ and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if supervised or instructed on safe use and hazards. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be done by children without supervision.
  • Always remove the plug from the socket-outlet before cleaning or maintaining the appliance. Switch off the appliance before cleaning or maintenance.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cord or assembly from the manufacturer or its service agent.
  • WARNING: Only use the detachable docking station provided with this appliance for recharging the battery (Use only with M7-DS docking station).
  • Batteries are only replaceable by skilled persons.
  • Do not bring the robot near heat sources, radiation, or burning cigarette butts.
  • Strictly forbidden to vacuum: liquids, construction dust/garbage, hot objects (like cigarette butts), sharp fragments (like glass), flammable/explosive items (like gasoline/alcohol).
  • Remove fragile items (glasses, lamps) and items that can tangle with brushes/wheels (wires, curtains) before operation.
  • Be mindful of your hair to avoid entanglement with wheels or roller brushes.
  • Do not use this product at an altitude above 2000m.
  • Correct Disposal: This product should not be disposed of with household waste. Recycle responsibly to promote sustainable reuse of material resources. Use return and collection systems or contact the retailer.
  • Warranty: Manufacturer provides warranty according to the customer's country of residence (min. 1 year, Germany: 2 years), covering defects in material or workmanship. Repairs must be done by authorized service centers. Original bill of purchase is required. Warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear, incorrect use, external influences, non-observance of the manual, or dismantled appliances.
  • Wireless network: 2400-2483.5MHz, MAX POWER: 20dBm. BLUETOOTH MAX POWER: 10dBm. Maintain a separation distance of 20 cm or more from the antenna during operation.
  • CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT (INVISIBLE LASER RADIATION).

Warning for docking station:

  • Follow all safety instructions.
  • Children aged 8+ and persons with reduced capabilities can use if supervised. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance by children requires supervision.
  • Unplug before cleaning/maintaining. Switch off before cleaning/maintaining.
  • Damaged cords must be replaced by manufacturer/agent.
  • Docking base is only for M7 Pro (Battery: Li-ion, 14.4V, 5200 mAh).
  • Docking base automatically charges the robot when returned.
  • Warning: Charger is not intended for non-rechargeable batteries.

Warning for battery:

  • Power off before removing the battery. Do not disassemble the battery yourself; contact after-sales service for replacement.
  • Dispose of used batteries according to local laws.
  • Do not dismantle, open, or shred the battery.
  • Do not expose batteries to heat, fire, or direct sunlight.
  • Do not short-circuit a battery.
  • Store batteries properly to avoid short-circuiting.
  • Do not subject batteries to mechanical shock.
  • If leaking occurs, wash affected area with water and seek medical advice.
  • Use only the provided charger and batteries designed for the equipment.
  • Do not mix different battery types/capacities.
  • Keep batteries out of reach of children.
  • Seek medical advice immediately if a battery is swallowed.
  • Keep batteries clean and dry.
  • Do not leave a battery on prolonged charge when not in use.
  • After long storage, charge/discharge several times for maximum performance.
  • Batteries perform best at normal room temperature (20°C ± 5°C).
  • Retain original product literature.
  • Low battery for extended periods can irreversibly damage the battery; maintain sufficient power before storage.

Quick Start Guide

First Use:

  1. Ensure charging base is properly set up (1.5m clearance on all sides).
  2. Before first use, charge the robot for at least 6 hours.
  3. Press and hold the power button to turn on the robot for App connection.
  4. Short press the power button or use the App to start cleaning.

Vibration Mopping Use Guide:

  1. Take off the normal water tank.
  2. Attach the dedicated wipe to the vibration tank.
  3. Fill the vibration tank with clean water (do not immerse electric parts).
  4. Wipe the electronic control interface with a dry, soft cloth.
  5. Assemble the prepared vibration tank into the unit until it clicks.
  6. Start the robot for vibration mopping (do not use on carpet).

APP & Voice Control

Download the SmartHome App: Scan the QR code or search for "SmartHome" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Download and register your personal account.

Connect Robot to App: Ensure your mobile phone is connected to your home wireless network and Bluetooth is enabled. Press the "+" button on the app's main screen, select "M7 Pro". Press and hold the network pairing button on the robot until it beeps and the indicator light flashes. Follow in-app instructions.

Voice Control (Google Assistant & Amazon Alexa):

  • Skill Name: "SmartHome"
  • Commands: Use commands like "start [robot name]", "stop [robot name]", "dock [robot name]", "[robot name] go home", "[robot name] go charge".

App Requirements: iOS 13.0 or later, Android 8.0 or later. Pad devices are not accepted. Requires 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Does not support WEP encryption.

Product Installation

Installation of Charging Base:

  1. Connect the power cable to the charging base.
  2. Place the charging base flat against a wall, ensuring adequate clearance (1.5m on sides and front).
  3. Connect the charging base to a power supply.

Installing the Side Brushes:

  1. Turn the unit over.
  2. Attach the correct color side brush to the matching post and press down until it fits.
  3. Ensure side brushes rotate freely.

Operation Instructions

Function of Buttons:

  • Start/Pause/Shut Down: Press and hold to turn on/off. Short press to start/pause cleaning.
  • Networking: Press and hold the network pairing button for Wi-Fi configuration.
  • Recharge: Short press button to recharge.
  • Reset: Press the "Reset" button if the robot is unresponsive.

Charging Robot Vacuum

  1. Press and hold the power button to turn on the robot.
  2. Place the robot on the charging base to start charging. Charge for at least 6 hours before first use.

Notes for Charging:

  • Do not place the charging base on carpets or soft floors; keep the area dry.
  • Remove the mopping cloth holder when the robot is charging.
  • Keep the robot on the charging base for readiness. For long-term storage, remove and store in a cool, dry place.
  • If unused for over 3 months, charge for at least 12 hours before use.
  • To preserve battery lifespan, fully charge at least once every six months.

Cleaning

Before cleaning, clear the floor of wires, sundries, fragile, and dangerous items.

During the first cleaning, follow the robot to identify potential issues. The robot can clean more smoothly after this. Use the app to set No-Go Zones or Virtual Walls to prevent cleaning specific areas.

Notes for Cleaning:

  • Do not use on wet surfaces or surfaces with standing water.
  • Fold rug edges under if they are tasseled before cleaning.

Mopping

  1. Ensure the mop cloth is attached to the mop cloth holder.
  2. Press the release button on the water tank and pull to remove it.
  3. Fill the water tank with clean water (do not exceed "Max" level; do not use hot water or detergent).
  4. Attach the mop cloth holder to the water tank.
  5. Re-insert the water tank assembly into the robot until it clicks.
  6. Press the mopping button [▶️] to start mopping. For carpets, use the app to set No-go zones or roll up the carpet.

Notes for Mopping:

  • Use clean water only. Do not add detergent to prevent clogs.
  • Clean the mop cloth after use.
  • Remove the mop cloth holder when the robot is charging.
  • Water flow can be adjusted via the app.

APP SETUP AND OPERATION

Network Requirements: Requires 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. 5GHz is incompatible. Wireless network is mandatory for initial setup. After setup, it can operate on wireless, 2G/3G/4G/5G networks.

Account Sharing: Invite others via the app to operate the same cleaner.

Network Reset: Long press the network pairing button for 3 seconds to clear wireless network settings.

Setup Steps:

  1. Ensure your mobile phone is connected to your home wireless network and has Bluetooth enabled.
  2. Download the SmartHome app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Register a personal account.
  3. Add your robot vacuum: Press "+" on the app's main screen and select "M7 Pro".
  4. Connect to wireless network: After powering on the robot, press and hold the network button until it beeps and the indicator light flashes. Follow in-app instructions.

Note: If your home wireless network name or password changes, you will need to re-establish the connection.

SmartHome App Quick Guide

The app interface may change with product updates. If the wireless network is unstable, there may be delays in app operations.

  • Navigation: Back to previous page, Robot settings, Edit map, Reset map, Mute.
  • Robot Status: Remaining power, Signal strength, Cleaning time.
  • Controls: Select suction mode, Start cleaning, Recharge, Adjust water flow, More cleaning mode.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Cleaning the Main Brush:

  1. Turn the unit over, remove the cover, and take out the main brush.
  2. Use the cleaning brush or scissors to remove tangled hair or debris.
  3. Dry the main brush and cover thoroughly, then reinsert them.
  4. Clean the main brush weekly and replace it every 6-12 months.

Cleaning the Side Brush:

  1. Pull to remove side brushes. Remove tangled hair/debris and reinstall.
  2. Clean side brushes weekly and replace them every 6-12 months.
  3. If curled, soak in warm water (30-50°C) for 30 seconds, then let dry thoroughly.

Cleaning the Dustbin and Filter Elements:

  • Empty the dustbin after each use.
  • Press the dustbin release button to remove the dustbin.
  • Press the release button to empty the dustbin.
  • The filter is on the side of the dustbin. Tap to remove debris. Clean the filter and sponge with water, then dry THOROUGHLY before reinserting.
  • Clean filter elements weekly and replace them every 1-3 months.
  • Reinsert the dustbin back into the robot.

Cleaning the Water Tank:

  1. After mopping, press the water tank release button and pull to remove the tank. Detach the mop cloth holder.
  2. Wash the mop cloth and dry THOROUGHLY.
  3. Open the water tank cover and pour out any remaining water.
  4. Wipe the water tank dry. Avoid exposure to sunlight.

Cleaning the Sensor and Wheel:

Wipe sensors and wheels gently with a dry, soft cloth.

Cleaning the Charging Contacts:

Wipe the charging contacts on the robot and charging base with a dry, soft cloth.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Common Problems and Solutions:

  • Appliance not charging: Check power switch, ensure full contact with charging terminals.
  • Appliance gets stuck: Clear tangled wires/objects. If brushes are stuck, clean them.
  • Not cleaned completely/needs recharge: Battery is low; charge the appliance.
  • No cleaning at scheduled time: Ensure power switch is on. Reset and reschedule if appointment was cancelled.
  • Impermeable after mop holder installed: Check if mop holder magnet is detached, if water tank is empty, or if outlet hole is blocked. Contact after-sales service if needed.
  • Missed sweeps/irregular map: If floor is slippery, dry it. Minimize ground clutter. Do not move or block the appliance during operation.
  • Appliance does not work: Ensure power switch is on. Charge the appliance if battery is low. Check drop sensors; if they are falling, place appliance closer to the ground or contact support.
  • Appliance retreats: Clear obstacles ahead. Check if bumper rail is clamped and clear any foreign matter.
  • App disconnection: Ensure mobile phone is connected to network and router is working. Power on the cleaner. If network configurations were cleared or password changed, re-add the appliance in the app.
  • Slow App operation: Check mobile phone network, router stability, and mobile phone settings. Broaden network bandwidth if necessary.
  • Unable to scan QR code: Try another mobile phone for scanning or add the appliance by product category.
