1. Product Introduction
1.1 Packing List
The package contains the following items:
- Printer × 1
- Quick Start Guide × 1
- Type-C Cable × 1
- USB to Type-C Adapter × 1
- Paper Roll × 1
⚠️ The paper roll has been placed inside the printer.
1.2 Printer Parts Instruction
Printer Exterior:
- Indicator Light: Shows printer status.
- Power Button: Used to turn the printer on/off and for other functions.
- Reset Hole: For resetting the device.
- Cover Open Buttons × 2: Located on the sides to open the top cover.
- Type-C Charger Port: For connecting the charging cable.
Printer Interior (Top Cover Open):
- Top Cover: The removable upper part of the printer.
- Print Head: Where the printing occurs.
- Paper Compartment: Holds the paper roll.
- Paper Entry Slot: Where paper is fed into the printer.
- Rubber Roller: Guides the paper.
- Paper Output Slot: Where printed paper exits.
- Paper Roll Spindle × 2: Supports the paper roll.
2. Getting Started
2.1 Downloading the App
You can download the "Phomemo" app using two methods:
- Method 1: Search the App Stores
Search for the "Phomemo" app on the App Store® (for iOS) or Google Play™ (for Android) and install it. - Method 2: Scan QR Code
Scan the provided QR code using your cell phone's camera, your browser's built-in QR code scanner, or a dedicated QR code scanning app.
Note: The Safari browser on Apple devices may not support direct QR code scanning. Please use your device's built-in QR code scanner instead.
2.2 Paper Installation Guide
- Power On: Long press the Power Button for 3 seconds until the Indicator Light turns green to power up the printer. ?
- Open Cover: Press the cover open buttons on both sides with both hands and lift up the top cover.
- Remove Protective Paper: Remove any protective paper from the inside of the printer.
Please skip this step if your printer does not contain a disposable protective sheet.
- Load Paper Roll: Unroll the paper roll inside the printer. Pull the paper head out higher than the paper exit slot. Ensure the print side of the paper is facing up.

- Close Cover: Put the top cover back down and press both ends simultaneously until you hear a click, indicating it is securely closed. ?
2.3 User Guide: Printing via Mobile App
- Open the "Phomemo" app.
- Grant necessary permissions when prompted. A connection to your printer is required for a better user experience. This may include Bluetooth permission.
- Wait for the printer to be searched by the app.
- Tap [Connect Now] to establish a connection.
- Once the connection is successful, click [Print Image].
- Edit your image as desired before printing.
- Confirm the preview effect of the image and then click [Print].
- Printing is completed.
Note: The software interface shown is for reference only. Please refer to the actual operating page for accurate information.
2.4 User Guide: Printing via Computer
- Connect Printer: Connect the printer to your computer using the original Type-C cable supplied.

If your computer has a Type-C interface, use the supplied adapter. The Type-C end of the adapter plugs into the computer. The adapter is unidirectional; plugging the Type-C end into the printer will prevent charging or data transfer.
- Download Driver: Visit a282m.labelife.cc to download and install the appropriate driver for your operating system (Windows, Windows ARM, Mac OS, Linux, Chrome OS).
- Select File: Select and open the file you wish to print (supported formats include JPG, PDF, TXT, DOCX, HTML, FILE, etc.).

- Initiate Print: Tap the print icon.
- Start Printing: Select the "A282M Printer" from the list of available printers and click [Print] to begin printing.
- Tear Paper: Tear open the printed paper from the output slot.
3. Paper types and usage instructions
3.1 Replace the Paper Roll
The printer supports paper rolls with widths of 53mm, 80mm, 110mm, 210mm, and 216mm.
- Prepare New Roll: Take out a brand new paper roll.
Please skip this step if the paper roll you have is not newly purchased and boxed.
- Power On: Long press the Power Button for 3 seconds until the Indicator Light turns green to power up the printer. ?
- Open Cover: Press the cover open buttons on both sides with both hands and lift up the top cover.
- Remove Old Roll: Remove the paper roll that needs to be replaced.
- Remove Stoppers: Gently pinch the top of the Paper Roll Stoppers and remove them.

- Install New Roll: Confirm the size of the new paper roll. Place the Paper Roll Stoppers into the printer's Paper Compartment according to the illustration. You will hear a "click" when they are correctly placed.

- Unroll Paper: Unroll the new Paper Roll. Ensure the print side of the paper is facing up.

- Place Roll in Compartment: Place the Paper Roll in the Paper Compartment, ensuring it is between the two Paper Roll Stoppers.
- Feed Paper and Close: Pull the Paper Roll out until it extends beyond the Paper Output Slot, and then close the Flip Cover.
3.2 Instructions for using single-sheet thermal paper
- Prepare Printer: Ensure the paper roll is removed from the printer's Paper Compartment. Press and hold the power button for three seconds to turn on the printer. ?
- Take New Sheet: Take out a new sheet of thermal paper.
If it is not a new individual thermal paper sheet (packaged separately), please disregard this step.
- Load Paper: After the printer is turned on, load the paper with the text side down into the Paper Entry Slot. The printer will automatically pull it in. When the indicator light turns green, the paper is successfully loaded.

The printed content will not appear on the side that reads "non-printing side".

4.3 Permission Description
For iOS users:
- The app requires access to the Internet. Some functionality may not work when wireless data is turned off. Options typically include "WLAN and Cellular", "WLAN Only", "Don't Allow".
- The app requires Bluetooth permission to connect to your printer for a better user experience. A prompt will ask to allow Bluetooth connection.
For Android users:
- The app requires Bluetooth permission to connect to your printer. A prompt will ask to allow Bluetooth connection.
- The app requires permission to search for nearby Bluetooth devices. A prompt will ask to allow finding and connecting to nearby devices.
For Android 12 and above, the app requires permission to search for nearby Bluetooth devices. For systems below Android 12, the app may require GPS permission to search for nearby Bluetooth devices.
Bluetooth Pairing Request:
- You may receive a prompt to "Pair with A282M". You can choose to "Block", "Cancel", or "Pair".
- You can optionally allow access to your contacts and call logs, or proceed with pairing without granting these permissions.
5. More Connection Methods
5.1 Connecting via QR Code
- Open the "Phomemo" App.
- Click [Connect] on the top of the app interface.
- Tap [Scan QR Code to Connect].
- Double-click the power button on the printer to print the self-test page.
- Scan the QR code displayed on the self-test page using the app.
- The device will be shown as connected.
5.2 Connecting via Bluetooth
- Open the "Phomemo" app.
- Click on the top [Connect].
- Navigate to Bluetooth Connections and search for the printer.
- Select your printer (e.g., A282M) from the list.
- Once connected, the device status will show as "Connected".
Turn on Bluetooth permission to quickly find and connect to the printer.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance
⚠️ Please make sure the printer is turned off before performing any cleaning or maintenance.
If you encounter issues such as blank lines, blurry print, or missing characters, it may be caused by dirt on the Print Head. Follow these steps:
- Cool Down: If you have just finished printing, wait for at least 30 minutes for the Print Head to cool down completely.
- Clean Print Head: Use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol or a print head cleaning pen (purchased separately). Gently wipe the surface of the Print Head about 5 times to remove any dust and stains.

- Evaporate Alcohol: Wait 5-10 minutes for the alcohol to evaporate completely. The cleaning is now done, and you can continue using the printer.
Print Head Warning: The Print Head is a HOT component! Touching it when it is hot can cause burns to your fingers. Please wait for at least 30 minutes after turning off the power before touching it.
7. Charging Instructions
- Prepare your own power adapter (DC 5V = 2A) with a Type-A port.
- Insert the Type-C end (flat end) of the USB cable into the A282M's Type-C Charger Port. Plug the Type-A end (wide end) into the Type-A port of the power adapter.
- After connecting and plugging into the socket, check the printer indicator lights. The indicator light will flash green while charging.
- For quick usage, charge the printer for at least 20 minutes. For a complete charge, wait for 4 hours or until the Indicator Light is solid green.
- As the printer may heat up during charging, avoid placing it on materials such as cotton or linen.
- Once the battery is fully charged, please unplug the charger promptly.
⚠️ Avoid using the printer while charging. Using the printer while charging may lead to reduced charging speed, compromised print quality, and shortened battery life.

8. Information to User
8.1 FCC WARNING
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules.
