Operation
High Pressure Applications: Inflating Tires
CAUTION: Risk of incomplete inflation
If a tire is totally deflated, it might separate from the rim, causing air to leak during inflation. The tire may need to be jacked up before inflation.
- Screw the high pressure air hose connector onto the tire's valve stem.
- Plug the power cord into the 12 Volt accessory power outlet.
- Press the high pressure on/off button to turn on the compressor. Inflate the tire to the manufacturer's recommended air pressure.
- When proper pressure is reached, press the on/off button to turn off the inflator.
- Unplug the power cord and remove the air hose connector from the tire.
Note: Correct tire pressure can be found in your vehicle's owner's manual or on the driver's side door jamb.
High Volume/Low Pressure Applications: Inflating Additional Items (rafts, mattresses, water toys)
- Attach the proper inflation adapter to the compressor's high volume/low pressure air hose.
- Connect the high volume air hose to the "+" port (for inflation) or "-" port (for deflation) on the side of the compressor.
- Insert the hose end with the adapter into the inflatable's air inlet.
- Plug the power cord into the 12 Volt accessory power outlet.
- Press the high volume on/off button to turn on the compressor.
- Carefully inflate to your desired level, avoiding over-inflation.
- Unplug the power cord and remove the air hose.
Auto-Fill Function (Digital Models Only)
WARNING: Risk of incomplete/unsafe tire inflation
Verify the correct tire pressure before setting the auto-fill cutoff. Setting it too low may result in improper inflation and a safety hazard. Correct pressure is found in your vehicle's owner's manual or on the driver's side door jamb.
Operation Steps for Auto-Fill:
- Set your desired pressure level using the up/down buttons. The desired pressure will be displayed above the "SET" icon.
- Release the buttons; the desired level will be stored after 2 seconds.
- Press the tire icon to start the compressor. It will inflate to the set PSI and then shut off automatically. The current pressure level will increase on the display during operation.
Troubleshooting
Compressor doesn't turn on
- Check and replace the fuse in the plug adapter if blown (requires a Philips screw driver).
- Ensure the vehicle power outlet fuse is a minimum of 15 amps.
- Clean dirt from receptacle and plug terminals using a non-conductive probe.
- Ensure the power plug is firmly inserted and twisted into the receptacle.
Compressor runs but does not inflate
- Ensure the air hose connector is tightly screwed onto the valve stem.
- Check the tire for leaks. Check the hose for breaks and leaks at fittings.
Compressor runs slowly
- The compressor may have overheated; turn it off and allow it to cool for 10 minutes.
- Check your vehicle's battery condition for low voltage.
