Sealey HVF20PO Industrial High Velocity Oscillating Pedestal Fan 20"
Introduction
The Sealey HVF20PO is an industrial high velocity oscillating pedestal fan designed for moving large volumes of air. It features three-speed settings, an adjustable height stand, a tilting blade cradle, and oscillation. The fan is fully guarded with a large diameter base for stability, making it suitable for industrial, commercial, agricultural, workshop, and showroom applications.

Assembly
Follow these steps for assembly:
- Bolt the bottom tube to the base.
- Place the fan head assembly onto the upper tube.
- Secure the fan head assembly using the two provided bolts.
- Adjust the height by loosening the collar on the tube, sliding it to the required height, and retightening.
- Adjust the head angle by loosening the head clamp, moving the head to the desired position, and retightening the clamp.
Operation
Ensure all safety instructions from Section 1 have been read and understood before operating the fan.
- Set the fan on a level, dry surface.
- Plug the power cord into the mains supply.
- The fan offers three speed settings selectable via a switch located at the back of the fan. Turning the switch clockwise increases the fan speed.
- To start the fan oscillating, press the control button down. Lift the button to stop oscillation.
- When not in use, disconnect the fan from the power supply and store it in a safe, dry, childproof location.
Care
Always turn the control switch to OFF and disconnect the fan from the power supply before cleaning.
- Use only a soft, damp cloth for cleaning.
- Do not submerge the fan in water and never allow water to drip into the motor housing.
- Do not use solvents or other chemicals for cleaning.
- To clean the fan blades and guards, loosen the 7 clips around the guards. Lift off the front guard from the top hook. Wipe the blades and guards.
- Reassemble by hooking the front guard into place at the top of the rear guard, then push the 7 clips back into place to engage both guards.
Safety
1.1. Electrical Safety
WARNING!
It is the responsibility of the owner and operator to read, understand, and comply with the following:
- Check all electrical products for safety before use, inspecting power cables, plugs, sockets, and connectors for wear or damage.
- Minimize the risk of electric shock by installing appropriate safety devices. A Residual Current Circuit Breaker (RCCB) is recommended in the main distribution board, and a Residual Current Device (RCD) is recommended for portable products plugged into supplies not protected by an RCCB. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt.
- The Electricity at Work Act 1989 requires portable electrical appliances used on business premises to be tested annually by a qualified electrician using a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT).
- The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 makes owners responsible for the safe condition of appliances and the safety of operators. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt.
- Ensure insulation on all cables and the appliance is safe before connecting to the power supply. Use a Portable Appliance Tester.
- Ensure cables are protected against short circuit and overload.
- Regularly inspect power supply cables, plugs, and connectors for wear or damage, and check connections to ensure none are loose.
- Ensure the voltage marked on the appliance matches the power supply and the plug is fitted with the correct fuse.
- DO NOT pull or carry the appliance by the power cable.
- DO NOT pull the plug from the socket by the cable.
- DO NOT use worn or damaged cables, plugs, or connectors. Have faulty items repaired or replaced by a qualified electrician. If a BS 1363/A UK 3-pin plug is damaged, cut the cable just above the plug and dispose of the plug safely.
- Wiring a UK 3-pin plug (BS 1363/A): Connect the GREEN/YELLOW earth wire to the earth terminal 'E'. Connect the BROWN live wire to the live terminal 'L'. Connect the BLUE neutral wire to the neutral terminal 'N'. After wiring, check for bare wires, correct connections, ensure cable outer insulation extends beyond the cable restraint, and that the restraint is tight.
- Double insulated products (marked with [double insulated symbol]) only have live (brown) and neutral (blue) wires. Connect these as indicated above; DO NOT connect either wire to the earth terminal.
- Products requiring more than 13 amps are supplied without a plug. Contact a qualified electrician to ensure a suitably rated supply is available. Consider installing an industrial round pin plug and socket with your electrician.
- If using an extension reel, unwind it fully before connection. An RCD-fitted reel is preferred for appliance protection. Use at least 1.5mm² cable core section, or preferably 2.5mm² for certainty of capacity.
1.2. General Safety
- ✔️ Disconnect the fan from the mains power when not in use, and before servicing or performing any maintenance.
- ✔️ Use the fan in dry areas only. DO NOT use in wet or areas with high condensation such as showers or pools.
- WARNING! If the fan falls into water or other liquid, switch off and disconnect from the mains power supply immediately. DO NOT touch the fan until the mains power supply has been disconnected.
- ✔️ Always disconnect the fan from the power supply when moving it from one location to another and ensure the fan stands on a level surface.
- The fan airflow is powerful. Before using, ensure no materials or items can be blown about by the air stream.
- Keep the fan clean and maintained in good condition. For electrical components or motor service, contact an authorised service agent.
- Use recommended parts only; unapproved parts may be dangerous and will invalidate your warranty.
- ❌ DO NOT operate the fan where there are harmful, explosive, or flammable gases, fumes, or hazardous substances.
- ❌ DO NOT stand the fan on the electrical power cable.
- ❌ DO NOT insert any objects through the fan guard.
- ❌ DO NOT cover the fan when in use.
- ❌ DO NOT immerse the fan in water or any other liquid.
- ❌ DO NOT allow children to operate the fan.
- ❌ DO NOT stand the fan where it may be knocked over or off a surface, or where the lead may cause a person to trip.
- ❌ DO NOT use the fan outdoors.
- ❌ DO NOT modify speed control or attempt to fit any additional external speed control device.
- When not in use, cover the fan to protect from dust and store in a safe, dry, childproof location.
