4U Rackmount Server Installation Guide
General Installation Precautions
- At least 4 people are required when installing 4U or larger models.
- Do not block ventilation holes on the server, especially at the front and rear, during installation.
- Remove the protective film from the server casing before use.
- Ensure at least 15 cm of space is left at the front and rear of the server for system cooling.
- For unoccupied rack cabinet slots, always install blanking panels to ensure adequate airflow to the server and prevent disruption of data center airflow.
- Servers are high-power electrical appliances and must only be installed in dedicated cabinets with ventilation holes or professional liquid-cooled cabinets to prevent system failure due to overheating.
- When installing multiple devices, start from the lower empty slots in the cabinet and install heavier equipment at the bottom.
- Pay attention to the load-bearing, power supply, and heat dissipation capacity of the cabinet. Do not install equipment that exceeds the cabinet's load capacity.
- To facilitate access to the server's front and rear interfaces and for easier cabling, ensure at least 70 mm of space between the front of the server and the inside of the cabinet's front door, and at least 150 mm between the rear and the inside of the cabinet's rear door.
Weight-based personnel requirements:
- Installing equipment over 15 kg requires at least 2 people.
- Installing equipment over 30 kg requires at least 3 people.
- Installing equipment over 50 kg requires at least 4 people.
Rail Kit Installation Guide
This rail kit is suitable for square hole cabinets (9.2*9.2 mm, 9.5*9.5 mm) and round hole cabinets (Ø 7.1 mm).
Components required for server rack mounting:
- Rails: Composed of inner rail, middle rail, and outer rail.
- Screws: M4x5.5 (2 pieces)
Step 2: Install the rear of the rail kit to the cabinet
Determine the installation position for the rear bracket of the rail kit on the cabinet. Press the rear fixing component in the direction of arrow 1 in the diagram, then push the rail in the direction of arrow 2 until the rear latch is fully engaged in the corner rail hole.
Step 3: Install the front of the rail kit to the cabinet
Determine the installation position for the front bracket of the rail kit on the cabinet. Ensure it is in the same 2U space horizontally with the rear bracket. Press the front fixing component in the direction of arrow 1 in the diagram, then push the rail in the direction of arrow 2 until the front latch is fully engaged in the corner rail hole.
Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 to install the other side rail kit. Ensure both side rails are on the same horizontal level.
Chassis Installation Guide
Step 1: Pull out the inner rail
Pull out the inner rail in the direction of arrow 1 in the diagram. Then press the buckle in the direction of arrow 2 to detach the inner rail.
Step 2: Install the inner rail to the server
Install the inner rail to the server as shown in diagrams 1 and 2. Secure it with one screw at position 3.
Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2 to install the other inner rail to the server.
Step 4: Install the server into the cabinet
Align the inner rail with the middle rail as shown in diagram 1. Push the server into the cabinet. Tighten the fixing screws located inside the server's left and right handles (position 3).
