How much milk to add to make My Latte?

Your machine is fitted with a system to detect and use all the milk poured into the milk container. You can then deliver your My Latte using the exact amount of milk you want. Refer to the graduated scale on the milk container to add the correct quantity, bearing in mind that:

[Image: Milk container with MIN marking and arrow indicating minimum quantity of 45ml]

[Image: Milk container with marks indicating each mark corresponds to 20ml]

The volume of milk you add increases 2/3 times after delivery. Make sure your glass or cup is sufficiently large to hold all the milk and coffee delivered afterwards.

To close the milk container lid again:

  1. Insert the lid (the line on the lid must be aligned with the [Symbol]).
  2. Turn the lid towards the [Symbol] until it clicks in place.

5.2 Select the coffee aroma or pre-ground coffee

Once the milk container has been prepared, before selecting the desired milk beverage, you can customise the coffee aroma as described in paragraph “4.3 Varying the coffee aroma”. Alternatively, you can select pre-ground coffee and then add one measure of coffee as indicated in the Quick Guide.

The machine can also be programmed according to the hardness of the water supply in the various regions, so that descaling is required less often.

  1. Remove the indicator paper from its packaging. If provided with your model, you will find it attached to the Quick Guide.
  2. Immerse the paper completely in a glass of water for about one second.
  3. Remove the strip from the water and shake lightly. After about a minute, 1, 2, 3, or 4 red squares appear, depending on the hardness of the water. Each square corresponds to one level.

16. Troubleshooting

Below is a list of some possible malfunctions. If the problem cannot be resolved as described, contact customer services.

Problem Possible Cause Remedy
The appliance does not come on. It is not plugged into the mains socket. Plug into the mains socket.
The coffee is not hot. The cups were not preheated. Warm the cups by rinsing them with hot water (Please note: you can use the hot water function).
The internal circuits of the appliance have cooled down because 2-3 minutes have elapsed since the last coffee was made. Before making coffee, press and hold the [Coffee] button for a few seconds to perform a rinse cycle and warm the internal circuits.
Coffee temperature setting too low. Set a hotter coffee temperature in the settings menu (see “10. Settings menu”).
The machine must be descaled. Carry out the descale procedure. Next, check the water hardness (“7. Measuring water hardness”) and make certain the machine setting matches the local water supply hardness (“10. Settings menu”).
The coffee is weak or not creamy enough. The coffee is ground too coarsely. Adjust the grinding level (“4.6 Adjusting the coffee mill”). The effect is not visible until at least 2 coffees have been made.
The coffee is unsuitable. Use coffee for espresso machines.
Coffee not fresh. The coffee pack has been opened for too long and has lost its taste.
The coffee is delivered too slowly or a drop at a time. The coffee is ground too finely. Adjust the grinding level (“4.6 Adjusting the coffee mill”). The effect is not visible until at least 2 coffees have been made.
Impurities have been detected in the internal circuits. Wait until the machine is ready for use again, and proceed to select the required beverage. Contact customer services if the problem persists.
The machine does not make coffee. The coffee nozzles are blocked. Clean the nozzles with a cloth. Any encrusted deposits can be removed with a toothpick, if necessary.
Coffee does not come out of one or both spouts. The pre-ground coffee funnel is clogged. Open the door and clean the funnel with the help of a brush.
The coffee delivered is watery. The machine has not been turned off. Turn the machine off by pressing the [Power Button].
The infuser cannot be extracted. During the two rinse cycles, the water tank has not been filled to the MAX level. Empty the drip tray, fill the tank up to the MAX level and perform the third rinse cycle.
At the end of descaling, the appliance requests a third rinse. The milk is not cold enough, or is not semi-skimmed or skimmed. Use skimmed or semi-skimmed milk at refrigerator temperature (about 5°C). If the result is not as expected, try a different brand of milk.
The milk has big bubbles. The milk container lid is dirty. Remove the components and clean them thoroughly as described in section “12. Cleaning the milk container”.
Milk beverages are not enabled. Vegetable beverages are being used. The effect varies widely depending on the nutritional properties of the beverages.
The milk container is not correctly inserted, or there is not enough milk to prepare the requested beverage. Prepare the milk container and insert it correctly in the machine.
Several milk beverages have been prepared in succession and the machine needs to heat up to the ideal temperature before making the next beverages. Wait until milk beverages are again enabled on the control panel.
The cup tray on top of the machine is hot. A number of beverages have been prepared in rapid succession. This is part of normal operation. To limit the phenomenon, empty the drip tray.
The machine emits noises or small puffs of steam while not in use. The machine is ready for use, or has recently been turned off, and condensate is dripping into the hot vaporiser. Put the grille back in the drip tray.
The appliance emits puffs of steam from the drip tray and/or there is water on the surface the appliance rests on. The drip tray grille has not been replaced after cleaning. Put the grille back in the drip tray.
