Setup Instructions

Step 1: Connect the Microphone
Connect the USB-C cable to the JLab Talk GO microphone. Connect the USB-A end of the cable to a USB port on your computer (Windows PC or Mac).

Step 2: Verify Connection
Adjust your computer's settings to ensure the connection is established. Your computer should recognize the JLab Talk GO microphone.

Step 3: Configure Audio Settings
For Windows (7, 8, or 10):
- From the Start Menu, select "Control Panel".
- In the Control Panel, select the "Sound" icon.
- Go to the "Recording" tab and select "JLab Talk GO" as your default recording device.
- Go to the "Playback" tab and select "JLab Talk GO" as your default playback device.
For Mac (macOS 10.10 or Newer):
- Open "System Preferences" and select the "Sound" icon.
- Select the "Input" tab and choose "JLab Talk GO".
- Select the "Output" tab and choose "JLab Talk GO".
- Adjust the desired volume level from this screen.
Microphone Controls and Features
Microphone Overview
The JLab Talk GO features several controls and connection points:
- Volume Control Knob: Located on the bottom of the microphone for adjusting audio input levels. ?️
- Mute Button: Located on the top of the microphone. A quick press toggles mute on/off. ??
- USB-C Input: The primary port for connecting the microphone to your computer for power and audio. ?
- 3.5 MM AUX Output: For connecting headphones to monitor your audio. ?
- LED Controls: Located on the front, indicating status.

Usage Modes and Tips
Polar Patterns
The JLab Talk GO offers different pickup patterns for various recording scenarios:

Cardioid: Optimized for picking up sound directly from the front of the microphone. Ideal for single-person voiceovers or podcasts.

Omni: Captures sound equally from all directions around the microphone. Suitable for conference calls or group discussions where multiple sound sources are present.

Mute: Activates the mute function, indicated by a red light or symbol.

Microphone Positioning
For optimal audio quality, position the microphone correctly. Speak directly into the front of the microphone for the Cardioid pattern.

Important Notes:
- The Talk GO is compatible with most recording software on macOS, Windows, and Linux. Adjust settings within your software as needed.
- No additional drivers or software are required for the JLab Talk GO. It is a plug-and-play device.
- The JLab Talk GO requires a direct USB-A connection to a computer's operating system for power and functionality. It will not operate when connected to a power bank or battery pack.
