Introduction
With this automatic feeder, you can automatically feed your fish. Feeding a smaller quantity of food on a regular basis has a beneficial effect on the health of the fish and pond. Only suitable for pellets!
Safety
- Read this manual carefully before usage.
- The Fish Feeder is suitable for outdoor use. Prevent the feeder from falling into the water.
- Ensure the voltage shown on the label matches the mains supply voltage.
- The Fish Feeder plug may only be connected to an earthed wall socket. Ensure that water cannot reach the socket (See diagram A).
- Take great care using electricity in combination with water; do not operate with wet hands or plug if wet. Never operate the feeder if there are people in the water.
- Do not use the Fish Feeder in case of water damage. Warranty is no longer valid if the unit has water damage or due to improper use.
- Unplug or switch off all appliances in the pond before carrying out maintenance.
- In the event of damage to the unit, cord, or plug, do not use the unit and return it to your dealer for repair or recycling.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children may not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.
Installation
- Place the Fish Feeder in an accessible place above your pond so that it can be easily refilled with food.
- Fasten the bracket to a wall (e.g., post) (B) or floor (e.g., on a deck) (C) using 4 screws (not supplied). Make sure the Fish Feeder hangs completely level (D).
- Place the Fish Feeder in the bracket and feed the cable through the cable guide of the bracket (E).
- Mount the controller with a screw on a wall, in a dry and splash-free location (A).
- Fill the container with pellets (max. 7 litres) and place the lid. Attention: When filling an empty food container, some pellets will fall out of the dispenser; if necessary, you can collect them, for example by keeping the lid under the fish feeder. Close the lid by turning it anticlockwise.
- Make sure the food stays dry in the container. If the food gets moist, it will cake and the Fish Feeder will not function properly.
- The Fish Feeder is suitable for pellets with a diameter between 2-9 mm. Place the reducer (insert ring) at the bottom of the food container when using small pellets (2-4 mm) (F).
- Insert the plug into a grounded socket and test the Fish Feeder by pressing the controller's "manual" button. A small amount of food will now be dispensed.
- Set the correct time on the controller and program the desired feeding times and amount of food. (See Programming). Use the feeding table on the packaging or in the back of this manual as a guideline.
Maintenance
- Clean the inside of the food container regularly with a brush and a dry cloth. Remove any caked food remains, as these can block the rotor, which can lead to damage and/or malfunction of the Fish Feeder.
Programming
With the Fish Feeder controller, you can easily set between 1 and 24 automatic feedings per day. The quantity of food can be set (in steps), so you can vary the amount per feeding. By pressing the 'Manual' button, the Fish Feeder gives a small amount of food. You turn the Fish Feeder on by plugging the plug into the socket.

Quantity of food
You can set the amount of fish food in 10 steps. The quantity per step depends, among other things, on the specific weight of the food used and pellet size. The indicated amounts of food in the table below are average and based on the use of Hikari Staple. (We accept no liability for any differences).

- The settings will be saved (temporarily) if there is a power failure/interruption. In the event of a long power cut, the clock will no longer indicate the current time, in which case you will have to set the time and feedings again.
Guidelines for the amount (weight) of fish food per day
You can use the table below to calculate how much food your fish need per day. For this, you must first calculate the total weight of your fish in the pond. The easiest way to do this is by converting the length of the fish to the weight. Complete the table below and calculate the total weight of all your fish.
How much food (in percentage of body weight) a fish requires depends on a number of factors, such as water temperature, filter capacity, and water quality (NH3/NH4 and NO2).
- At water temperature between 15-18°C: feeding per day should be about 1% of the total weight of the fish.
- At water temperature between 18-21°C: feeding per day should be about 1.5% of the total weight of the fish.
- At water temperature between 21-23°C: feeding per day should be about 2% of the total weight of the fish.
- At water temperature above 23°C: feeding per day should be about 3% of the total weight of the fish.
The filter must be able to convert all waste to maintain a biological balance and a healthy water quality. Regular testing of Ammonia and Nitrite levels is necessary during the season. If these levels increase, you will need to feed less.
The table is based on a water temperature between 21-23°C, in which case the amount of fish food per day is 2% of the total weight of all fish in the pond.
Fish size | Approx weight | Number of fish | Total weight |
---|---|---|---|
15 cm | ± 60 g | X......... | = ......... g |
20 cm | ± 125 g | X......... | = ......... g |
30 cm | ± 350 g | X......... | = ......... g |
40 cm | ± 1000 g | X......... | = ......... g |
50 cm | ± 2000 g | X......... | = ......... g |
60 cm | ± 4000 g | X......... | = ......... g |
+ Total weight of all fish in the pond x 2% = amount of fish food per day
......... g x 2% = ......... g
