Warranty Conditions
A 2-year manufacturer's warranty covers material and construction defects. The warranty does not cover damage from incorrect use, contamination, failure to clean, glass breakage, leaks, modifications, or cable damage. Aquadistri is not liable for damage to fish, plants, or interior from glass breakage or leaks. To claim warranty, the aquarium must be returned complete with accessories and proof of purchase. The remaining warranty period applies to repaired or replaced items. Always keep your proof of purchase, as it is required for any warranty claim.
Recycling Information
This symbol indicates that the product should not be disposed of with normal household waste. It must be handed in at an official collection centre or returned to the dealer when purchasing a new product. Follow local regulations for separate collection of electrical and electronic products. Separate collection and recycling benefit the environment and public health by reducing waste.
Setting Up Your Aquarium
Choose a suitable location for your aquarium. It should be relatively dark, away from direct sunlight, to prevent unwanted algae growth and overheating.
Step 1: Placement
Place the aquarium on a smooth, horizontal, and stable surface with adequate load-bearing capacity. Avoid placing it on electrical appliances or furniture prone to water damage.
Note: Total weights of filled aquariums are approximately: Start 20: 25 kg, Start 30: 35 kg, Start 50: 55 kg, Start 70: 90 kg, Start 100: 110 kg, Start 150: 170 kg.
Step 2: Cleaning and Substrate
Clean the aquarium and accessories thoroughly with clean tap water. Rinse the aquarium gravel well. Never use cleaning products or alcohol. Use a clean bucket. Cover the bottom with aquarium gravel. For planted aquariums, add a nutrient substrate first, then cover with gravel. Support heavy rocks with foam or similar material to prevent glass breakage (not covered by warranty).
Step 3: Filling and Planting
Slowly fill the aquarium with clean tap water (around 20°C). Use a plate or cup under the water stream to prevent disturbing the gravel or substrate. Fill the aquarium halfway, add plants, then continue filling to the top.
It is recommended to plant approximately 80% of the bottom surface area, using fast-growing stem plants to help prevent algae growth.
Step 4: Filter Installation
Read the Aqua-Flow filter manual. Install the AquaFlow filter into the aquarium. Clean the filter cartridge weekly by rinsing it with tap water. The cartridge contains active carbon to absorb harmful substances and should be replaced monthly.
Step 5: Heater Installation (Tropical Kits)
For tropical fish, an aquarium heater is necessary. A suitable heater is included with Tropical Kits. Place the heater in a corner behind some plants. Always read the heater manual before use.
Step 6: Water Treatment and Bacteria
After filling or during water changes, add water conditioner to remove toxins and protect your fish. Add a bacterial culture to help start and maintain your biological filter.
Step 7: Acclimatization
Allow the aquarium to run for at least two days (preferably one week) before introducing fish. Ensure the water temperature is correct (check with an aquarium thermometer). When changing water, always check the temperature of the fresh water; significant temperature fluctuations can harm fish.
Recommended temperatures: Tropical fish: 24-26°C, Coldwater fish: 18-20°C.
Step 8: Water Parameter Testing
Test aquarium water and adjust parameters before buying fish and plants. You can also ask your dealer for assistance. After introducing fish, test the water every two days for two weeks, correcting any incorrect parameters. Subsequently, test water quality weekly.
Step 9: Weekly Maintenance
Change 20% of the aquarium water weekly and clean the gravel and walls. Ensure the fresh water is the same temperature as the aquarium water. Add water conditioner and bacterial culture after each cleaning.
Step 10: Feeding
Proper feeding is crucial for healthy fish. Overfeeding pollutes the water and can make fish sick. Feed once a day only as much as the fish can consume within 5 minutes.
Retro LED Bright Lighting
The Start 70, 100, and 150 models offer space for an additional Retro LED tube. The Retro LED Bright lights are available in 45 cm, 60 cm, and 75 cm lengths, with corresponding Combi versions.
