Centurion Systems 24-12 Volt DC-DC Regulator with Relay

1. Introduction

This configuration acts as a regulator that converts a 24VDC input to a 12VDC output. This enables devices such as a POLOphone intercom system to receive power from a 24VDC gate motor. Additionally, a relay is included for connecting a pillar light to gate motors that do not provide an onboard relay for this application.

3.1. Typical Regulator Circuit

Regulate the +/- 24V DC auxiliary supply provided by the DX SMART controller down to 12V DC for use on ancillary devices that strictly work off a 12V DC supply, e.g. POLOphone.

Connections:

• RED: +24VDC In
• BLACK: -24VDC In
• RED: +12VDC Out (Max: 300mA)

This circuit is used for connecting a POLOphone intercom or other ancillary device that needs strictly 12V DC to a 24V input. It can also be used as an alternative to the OR connection if the 24V input is not from a SMART Controller.

3.2. Typical Relay Circuit

Connections:

• RED: +24VDC In
• BLACK: -24VDC In
• ORANGE: Any Configured I/O (I/01-6)
• BROWN: COM (Relay common terminal)
• BROWN: NO (Relay normally open terminal)
• BLUE: NEUTRAL (from 220V AC Mains)
• BROWN: LIVE (from 220V AC Mains)

Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates a SMART DX Controller with its I/O channels. One channel (set as an output) is connected via an ORANGE wire to the relay's input. The relay's common terminal (BROWN) is connected to the pillar light. The normally open terminal (BROWN) is connected to the 220V AC mains LIVE via a fuse (MAX: 3A).
