G-Speak Ultra Quick Guide
This guide provides essential information for the installation and configuration of the G-Speak Ultra GSM-based intercom system.
1. Important Safety Instructions
- Do not install the product near the DOSS sensor inside the gate motor housing or near the remote receiver.
- Do not install the product near any sensitive electrical components.
- All installation, repair, and service work must be done by a suitably-qualified person.
- Do not modify the components of the system in any way.
- Do not install the equipment in an explosive atmosphere; the presence of flammable gas or fumes is a serious danger to safety.
- Do not leave packing materials (plastic, polystyrene, etc.) within reach of children as such materials are potential sources of danger.
- Dispose of all waste products, like packing materials, according to local regulations.
- Centurion Systems (Pty) Ltd does not accept any liability caused by improper use of the product, or for use other than that for which the GSM system was intended.
- This product was designed and built strictly for the use indicated in this documentation. Any other use, not expressly indicated here, could compromise the service life/operation of the product and/or be a source of danger.
- Anything not expressly specified in these instructions is not permitted.

3. Product Identification
3.1. G-SPEAK ULTRA
The G-SPEAK ULTRA is a GSM-based intercom system. Key components include:
- Fascia: The front cover of the unit.
- External Antenna Cover: Covers the external antenna connector.
- Main Unit: The central processing unit.
- Mounting Plate: For attaching the unit to a surface.
- Terminal Blocks: For wiring connections.
- Navigation panel: Buttons for interacting with the LCD screen.
- LCD Screen: Displays system information.
SIM Card: Requires a nanoSIM card.
IMEI Screen: Displays the device's IMEI number.
Gate station Voice Numbers: Displays primary and secondary voice numbers.
4. Device Layout and Wire Connections
The G-SPEAK ULTRA system consists of a main unit and a calling module. Connections are made via terminal blocks.
Optional: External Antenna
Note: The Internal Antenna is selected by default.
Wiring Diagram Description: A diagram shows the connections between the G-SPEAK ULTRA, the calling module, and a D-Series Controller. It details connections for GND, Input/Output channels (101-104), Data Communication Lines (P1-P6), and Power Supply (VIN, NEG).
Important Wiring Notes:
- Do not mount close to DOSS sensor or remote receiver.
- To prevent noise on call audio: 1) Power supply/charger must be earthed from AC mains cable. 2) Screened cable is recommended and the screen must be connected to G-SPEAK GND only.
5. LCD Interface
The LCD interface displays various system statuses and information. Screens include:
- Home Screen: Displays Network Name or Phone Number (for incoming/outgoing SMS or calls).
- Network Signal Strength: Indicates the strength of the GSM network signal.
- Connected to Internet: Shows connection status to the internet.
- Connected to G-WEB: Shows connection status to G-WEB.
- Device has Error Condition: Indicates if the device is experiencing an error.
- Incoming SMS / Outgoing SMS: Shows SMS activity.
- Incoming Phone Call Events / Outgoing Phone Call Events: Shows call activity.
- IO Status Screen: Displays the status of Input/Output channels (Activated/Deactivated, On/Off).
- Supply Voltage/Firmware/Date & Time: Shows the current supply voltage, firmware version, date, and time.
- Phone Number Screen: Displays the device's SIM phone number.
- Airtime Balance Screen: Shows outgoing call and SMS credits.
- GSM Antenna Selected Screen: Indicates whether the internal or external GSM antenna is selected.
- Gate Status Screen: Displays the status of the gate (Closed, Opening, Open, Warning).
- SIM Screen: Shows SIM card status (PIN OK, PIN Incorrect, SIM Error).
6. Syncing and Factory Reset
The device can be re-synced or reset to factory settings:
- Re-sync: Refreshes the connection to G-WEB without erasing settings.
- Factory Reset: Restores the device to factory settings, erasing all configurations. A confirmation is required.
- Back: Returns to the main menu.
7. Configurations
Features can be configured remotely via the G-WEB Mobile App or G-WEB Online Interface.
7.1. Removing the Mounting Plate and Fascia
To access terminal blocks, the back plate and fascia need to be removed:
- Removing the Mounting Plate: Gently pull the two clips at the back to release the main G-SPEAK ULTRA unit from the mounting plate.
- Removing the Fascia: Insert fingers into the slots on the sides and pull outward and upward to detach the fascia.
7.2. Calling Module
The calling module has a call button and terminals for connections. Labels for call buttons (Mr. X, Mr. Y) are provided.
7.3. Wiring Diagrams
Refer to the online G-ULTRA wiring diagram document for more detailed diagrams.
7.4. Configuration of features
All features can be configured via the G-WEB Mobile Phone App or G-WEB Online Interface. Users can add/delete users, specify notifications, and modify device characteristics.
- G-WEB Mobile App (Installers): Download the app to manage configurations on the go. The app includes a built-in QR scanner.
- G-WEB Online: Remotely manage and configure CENTURION GSM devices via the online interface.
7.4.3. G-REMOTE Mobile App (Users)
Download the G-REMOTE mobile app to remotely control GSM devices and receive push notifications. Scan the QR code to download from the App Store or Google Play.
