- Do not install the device near heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

Battery Precautions
- CAUTION regarding battery use: To prevent battery leakage, which may cause personal injury, material damage, or damage to the portable radio:
- Install the battery correctly, observing the + and - marks on the unit.
- Remove batteries if you are not going to use the unit for a long time.
- Do not expose the battery to excessive heat such as direct sunlight, fire, or the like.
- Do not expose the portable radio to dripping or splashing.
- Do not place any source of danger on the portable radio (such as objects containing liquids or lit candles).
Hearing Safety
Listen at a moderate volume:
- Using headphones at high volume can damage your hearing. This product can produce sounds in decibel ranges that can cause hearing loss for a normal person, even when exposed for less than a minute. Higher decibel ranges are intended for people who have already experienced hearing loss.
- Sound can be deceptive. Over time, your hearing's "comfort level" will adapt to higher sound volumes. So after listening for a prolonged period, what sounds "normal" may be loud and harmful to your hearing. To protect yourself from this, set your volume to a safe level before your hearing adapts and leave it there.
To set a safe volume level:
- Set your volume control to a low level.
- Slowly increase the sound until you hear clearly and without distortion.
- Listen for reasonable periods of time. Prolonged exposure to sound, even at normally "safe" levels, can also cause hearing loss.
- Make sure to use your equipment reasonably and take adequate breaks.
Ensure you comply with the following guidelines when using headphones:
- Listen at a reasonable volume for reasonable periods.
- Be careful not to adjust the volume as your hearing adapts.
- Do not turn the volume up so high that you cannot hear what is happening around you.
- You must exercise caution or temporarily suspend use in potentially dangerous situations. Do not use headphones while driving a motor vehicle, cycling, skateboarding, etc.; it may pose a traffic hazard and is illegal in many areas.
