Code Reader Descriptions
The NT301 CAN OBDII/EOBD Code Reader from Foxwell is the easiest and quickest solution for OBD faults. When it comes to diagnosing Check Engine issues, the NT301 code reader offers useful information for entry-level professionals and savvy DIYers. It can quickly and efficiently troubleshoot OBD2/EOBD problems on today's vehicles. Additionally, its 2.8" TFT color screen and hot keys for I/M readiness test, and reading/clearing DTCs make it excellent value for money.
Key Components:
- A. OBD II Cable: Connects the reader to the vehicle's OBD II port.
- B. LCD Display: Shows diagnostic information.
- Green LED: Indicates the engine system is working normally, all monitors are active, and no DTCs are found.
- Yellow LED: Indicates a possible problem, with pending DTCs or incomplete diagnostic testing.
- Red LED: Indicates a significant problem, with one or more systems having issues, and the MIL lamp is illuminated.
- F. UP Key: Navigates up through menus and data.
- G. DOWN Key: Navigates down through menus and data.
- H. LEFT SCROLL KEY: Moves to the previous character when looking up DTCs and scrolls through data.
- I. RIGHT SCROLL KEY: Moves to the next character when looking up DTCs and scrolls through data.
- J. One Click I/M Readiness Key: Quickly checks emissions readiness and drive cycle verification.
- K. BACK Key: Returns to the previous screen.
- L. ENTER Key: Confirms selections.
- M. Power Switch: Reboots the code reader.
- N. HELP Key: Accesses the Help function and is used for updating the code reader when long-pressed.
- O. USB Port: For connecting to a PC for updates.

How to Use NT301?
OBD-II Connector and Pinout:
The OBD II connector has 16 pins with specific functions:

Basic Operation:
- Insert the OBD interface into the vehicle's OBD port.
- Turn on the ignition of your car.
- In the main menu, press ENTER to select OBDII/EOBD. The NT301 will start scanning. Wait for several seconds, then choose "yes/no" with the right arrow key to enter the Diagnostic Menu.
- Read Codes: Choose this option to check for diagnostic trouble codes. Pending Codes require confirmation after several driving cycles. If a code has a "?" symbol, press HELP for DTC guidance. Otherwise, document the codes for further research.
- Live Data: View and graph selected live data to help identify faulty sensors.
- View Freeze Frame: This provides a snapshot of critical vehicle operating conditions recorded when a DTC was set. Analyze this data to help locate faulty sensors.
- O2 Monitor Test, On-Board Monitor Test, Component Test: The availability of these tests depends on the vehicle's actual condition.
- I/M Readiness: Enter "I/M Readiness" to check the vehicle's emissions readiness status.
Updating
- Download the update tool NT Wonder from www.foxwelltech.com and install it on your PC.
- Enable NT Wonder and connect the NT301 to your computer using a USB cable.
- Click "Update online" or "Update offline" to start the updating process based on your software version conditions.
- An "Update Finished" message will display upon completion.
Important Notes for Updating:
- Do not disconnect the code reader from the computer or power off the computer during the update process.
- No registration is required.
- Compatible with PC: Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.
