Find the control that is the closest match by determining the following specifications using the following steps.
STEP #1
Determine the control type by examining the dial markings for Oven, Griddle, or Steam Table applications.
Oven Dial: Typically marked with settings like OFF, LOW 250, 400 HI.
Griddle Dial: Typically marked with settings like OFF, GRIDDL, LO 150, 400 HI.
Steam Table Dial: Typically marked with temperature settings such as OFF, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350.
STEP #2
Outlet size and configuration. Determine where the rear housing is tapped and the thread size of the outlets.
The thermostat body has potential outlet tapping positions labeled A (BOTTOM OUTLET TAPPING POSITION), B (RIGHT), C (REAR), and D (LEFT). A PILOT OUTLET is also indicated.
STEP #3
Rear Housing Position. Always view the control from the back, with the inlet port down and the pilot/bypass screw(s) up.
If you need to rotate the new control to match the original, REMEMBER:
- Plug the pilot outlet first.
- Pay close attention to exactly which direction you rotate.
- Never separate the front from the back during rotation.
- Recalibrate after rotating.
Rotation options include NO (0 degrees), 90 CW (90 degrees clockwise), 180° (180 degrees), and 90 CCW (90 degrees counter-clockwise).
STEP #4
Pilot Outlet. Determine if the pilot outlet is plugged. The location of the pilot outlet is shown in Step #2.
Important Note: If the pilot outlet is not being used, it must be plugged.
STEP #5
Mounting Flange Type. Determine if the mounting flange is wide (7/8" width) or narrow (11/16" width).
Important Note: A new flange nipple will be required if the replacement deviates from the original.
STEP #6
Capillary Length and Bulb Size. If you need help with this step, stop and call a qualified serviceman.
