1. Prepare the door and check dimensions
Ensure door dimensions meet specifications:
- Door Hole Diameter: 2-1/8 in (54 mm) or 1-1/2 in (38 mm)
- Backset: 2-3/8 in or 2-3/4 in (60 or 70 mm)
- Door Edge: 1 in (25 mm)
- Door Thickness: 1-3/8 in to 1-3/4 in (35 mm to 44 mm). Contact customer service for doors thicker than 1-3/4 in.

2. Install the latch and strike
Latch Installation:
- Align the latch with the door hole. Ensure the rectangular hole is centered.
- If the door edge is chiseled, install the latch with supplied screws.
- If the door edge is not chiseled, remove the latch face using a flathead screwdriver, twist off the collar, and install the drive-in collar.
- Ensure the slotted hole is at the bottom of the latch.
- Align tabs with holes in the collar and ensure the collar snaps into place. Pull to test fit.
- Install the latch into the door using a wood block and hammer if necessary.
- IMPORTANT: Ensure the latch bolt is fully retracted (unlocked position).
Strike Installation:
- Install the strike on the door frame.
- Ensure the hole in the door frame is drilled a minimum of 1 in (25 mm) deep.
3. Install the exterior keypad
- Adapter Ring: Required if the door hole diameter is 1-1/2 in (38 mm). Not needed for 2-1/8 in (54 mm) holes.
- Locate and keep screws for the next step within reach.
- Install the exterior keypad and mounting plate:
- Rotate the flat blade to a horizontal position to match the latch orientation.
- Support the exterior assembly during mounting plate installation.
- Ensure the bolt is RETRACTED.
- Route the cable underneath the latch.
- The TOP of the mounting plate should be visible and parallel to the door edge.
- Tighten screws evenly. DO NOT over tighten.
- Ensure the flat blade is centered in the mounting plate hole.
- Route the cable through the center hole, then push the cable into the bottom hole.
- Insert the key and test the latch. Adjust screws if the latch does not extend or retract smoothly. Remove the key when the latch bolt is FULLY EXTENDED.
4. Install the interior assembly
- Remove the interior cover from the interior assembly.
- Ensure the latch bolt is in the extended/locked position.
- Make sure the turnpiece shaft is rotated correctly.
- Secure the interior assembly onto the mounting plate using the provided screws.
- Route the cable around the side notch and bottom of the interior assembly.
- Connect the cable, ensuring a tight connection.
- Insert the flat blade into the turnpiece shaft.
- If the turnpiece is not pointing up, rotate it until a click is heard.
- Do not install batteries until step 5.
5. Install the batteries in the interior assembly
- Ensure the door is open and the interior cover is off.
- Install 4 AA batteries in the interior assembly, ensuring correct polarity. Use new, non-rechargeable alkaline batteries for best results.
- Install the interior cover.
6. Add user codes (12 max)
- Ensure the interior cover is off. Press the Program button once.
- Press the number 1 button.
- Press the Program button again.
- Enter the desired user code (4 to 8 digits). The first 4 digits must be unique for each user code.
- Press the Program button again.
- The latch bolt will automatically retract and extend to learn the locking/unlocking direction. GREEN indicates success, RED indicates failure.
7. Test the lock
- A User Code must be created before the lock can operate electronically. Refer to Step 6.
- To lock: Press the lock button. The lock will beep twice and the lock button will flash amber as the deadbolt extends.
- To unlock: Enter a valid user code. The lock will beep twice and the lock button will flash green as the deadbolt retracts.
8. Adding a One-time User Code
- Remove interior cover. Press the Program button.
- Press the number 1 button.
- Press the number 3 button.
- Press the Program button.
- Enter the one-time user code (4 to 8 digits).
- Press the Program button again.
Up to 2 one-time user codes can be saved. They are automatically deleted after use.
9. Delete a Single User Code
- Remove interior cover.
- Press the Program button.
- Press the number 1 button.
- Press the number 2 button.
- Press the Program button.
- Enter the user code to be deleted.
- Press the Program button again.
Test the code while the door is open to confirm it no longer unlocks the door.
10. Delete ALL User Codes
Note: Keypad locking will be disabled. The lock can only be operated manually with a key.
- Remove interior cover. Press the Program button.
- Press the number 1 button.
- Press the number 4 button.
- Press the Program button.
- Press the number 5 button.
- Press the Program button again.
A factory reset will delete all user codes and reset programming to factory settings. The lock can only be operated manually with a key.
11. Enable/Disable Audio
- Remove interior cover. Press the Program button.
- Press the number 2 button.
- Press the number 1 button.
- Press the Program button.
The LED status indicator will still function when audio is disabled. Repeat steps to re-enable audio.
12. Enable/Disable User Codes
- Remove interior cover. Press the Program button.
- Press the number 2 button.
- Press the number 2 button.
- Press the Program button.
Note: When all User Codes are disabled, all electronic functions are disabled. The door must be locked/unlocked manually with a key. Repeat steps to re-enable User Codes.
13. Enable/Disable Auto-Lock
- Remove interior cover. Press the Program button.
- Press the number 3 button.
- Press the number 1 button.
- Press the Program button.
Repeat steps to disable auto-lock.
14. Change Auto-Lock Time Delay
- Remove interior cover. Press the Program button.
- Press the number 3 button.
- Press the number 2 button.
- Press the Program button.
- Choose and press the button for the desired delay: 30 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes.
- Press the Program button again.
15. Door Rehanding
- Remove interior cover. Press the Program button.
- Press the number 4 button.
- Press the Program button.
- Press the Program button again.
The latch bolt will extend and retract to learn the orientation of your door (left- or right-handed). If a stuck/jammed bolt error persists, ensure there are no obstructions from the strike or door jamb preventing the bolt from extending.
16. Factory Reset
Note: Lock must be in an unlocked position to factory reset.
- Remove interior cover. PRESS and HOLD the Program button for 15 seconds.
- The lock will emit a long beep.
- Press the Program button once more.
The latch bolt will extend and retract to learn the locking and unlocking direction of the door.
17. Add/Change Programming Code
Enable/Disable Programming Code: Optional. A Programming Code allows programming changes without access to the interior Program button, useful for landlords. Once enabled, the Program button is disabled (except for factory reset).
- Remove interior cover. Press the Program button.
- Press the number 5 button.
- Press the Program button.
- Enter the Programming Code (4 to 8 digits). It cannot be the same as any User Code.
- Press the Program button again.
To program the lock with a Programming Code: Follow programming steps WITHOUT pressing the PROGRAMMING BUTTON.
To disable Programming Code: Follow the steps above and enter a blank code or re-enter the existing code.

Troubleshoot
- Install fresh batteries.
- Check code and retry.
- Wait 1 minute, check code, and retry.
- Clear jam and try again.
- Retry factory reset steps. Ensure the Program Button is pressed again within 10 seconds after the long beep.
- Review Programming steps.
Important Safeguards
- Read all instructions.
- Familiarize yourself with warning and caution statements.
- Remind family members of safety precautions.
- Always have access to the lock's standard key.
- If using Auto-Lock, ensure you have your standard key to prevent lockout.
- Familiarize yourself with system alerts.
- Replace low batteries immediately.
- Dispose of used batteries according to local laws.

CAUTION: Prevent unauthorized entry. Restrict access to the back panel and routinely check User Codes. Using a programming code can help protect system settings.
