Door Preparation ?
Ensure your door meets the following specifications before installation:
- Door Hole Diameter: Must be 2-1/8 inches (54 mm) or 1-1/2 inches (38 mm).
- Backset: Must be 2-3/8 inches (60 mm) or 2-3/4 inches (70 mm).
- Door Edge: Must be 1 inch (25 mm) thick.
- Door Thickness: Must be between 1-3/8 inches (35 mm) and 1-3/4 inches (44 mm). For doors thicker than 1-3/4 inches, a thick door kit may be required (contact customer service).

Installation Steps ?
Step 1: Install the Latch and Strike
Latch Installation:
- Check if the door edge is chiseled.
- If not chiseled, use a flathead screwdriver to remove the latch faceplate. Twist the collar off, install the drive-in collar, and then install the latch using a wood block and hammer.
- If chiseled, install the latch with the supplied screws.
- Ensure the slotted hole in the latch is at the bottom.
- Ensure the latch bolt is fully retracted (unlocked position).
Strike Installation:
- Install the strike on the door frame.
- Ensure the hole in the door frame is drilled at least 1 inch (25 mm) deep.
Step 2: Install the Exterior Keypad
- Determine if an adapter ring is needed based on the door hole diameter (1-1/2 inch holes require an adapter).
- Install the exterior keypad and mounting plate using the provided screws (53646). Do not overtighten.
- Ensure the flat blade of the exterior assembly is horizontal and centered in the mounting plate hole.
- Route the cable underneath the latch and push it into the bottom hole of the interior assembly.
- Ensure the TOP of the mounting plate is visible and parallel to the door edge.
- Insert the key and test the latch operation. Remove the key when the latch bolt is fully extended.
Step 3: Install the Interior Assembly
- Remove the interior cover from the interior assembly.
- Ensure the latch bolt is in the extended/locked position.
- Rotate the turnpiece shaft as shown in the diagram.
- Secure the interior assembly onto the mounting plate using the provided screws (52502).
- Connect the cable to the interior assembly, ensuring a tight connection.
- Insert the flat blade into the turnpiece shaft.
- Reinstall the interior cover.
Step 4: Install Batteries
- With the door open and interior cover removed, install 4 AA batteries into the interior assembly.
- Ensure correct polarity. Use new, non-rechargeable alkaline batteries for best results.
- Install the interior cover.
Programming and Operation ⚙️
Adding User Codes (Up to 12)
- Ensure the interior cover is off. Press the Program button once.
- Press '1'.
- Press the Program button once.
- Enter a user code (4-8 digits).
- Press the Program button again.
Note: The latch will automatically retract and extend to learn the door's locking direction after the first user code is created. A GREEN light indicates success; RED indicates failure. A 5-second timeout will occur if no key is pressed.
Testing the Lock
- To Lock: Press the lock button. The lock will beep twice and the button will flash amber as the deadbolt extends.
- To Unlock: Enter a valid user code. The lock will beep twice and the button will flash green as the deadbolt retracts.
Adding a One-time User Code
- Remove interior cover. Press Program button.
- Press '2'.
- Press Program button.
- Enter the one-time user code (4-8 digits).
- Press Program button again.
Note: Up to 2 one-time codes can be saved. They are automatically deleted after use.
Deleting a Single User Code
- Remove interior cover. Press Program button.
- Press '3'.
- Press Program button.
- Enter the user code to delete.
- Press Program button again.
Test the code while the door is open to confirm it no longer unlocks the door.
Deleting ALL User Codes
- Remove interior cover. Press Program button.
- Press '4'.
- Press Program button.
- Press '4' again.
- Press Program button again.
Note: Keypad locking will be disabled. Manual key operation is required until user codes are re-added. The system will time out if a button is not pressed within 5 seconds.
Enabling/Disabling Audio
- Remove interior cover. Press Program button.
- Press '5'.
- Press Program button again.
Note: LED status indicators will still function. Repeat steps to re-enable audio.
Enabling/Disabling User Codes
- Remove interior cover. Press Program button.
- Press '6'.
- Press Program button again.
Note: When all user codes are disabled, electronic functions are disabled. Manual key operation is required.
Enabling/Disabling Auto-Lock
- Remove interior cover. Press Program button.
- Press '7'.
- Press Program button again.
Repeat steps to disable auto-lock.
Changing Auto-Lock Time Delay
- Remove interior cover. Press Program button.
- Press '8'.
- Press Program button.
- Choose and press the desired delay: 30 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, or 10 minutes.
- Press Program button again.
Door Rehanding
- Remove interior cover. Press Program button.
- Press '9'.
- Press Program button again.
The latch bolt will extend and retract to learn the door's orientation. This step is crucial for proper operation. Ensure no obstructions prevent the bolt from extending.
Factory Reset
Note: The lock must be in an unlocked position to perform a factory reset.
- Remove interior cover. Press and hold the Program button for 15 seconds until a long beep is heard.
- Press the Program button once more within 10 seconds.
- Enter the Programming Code (if set).
- Press the Program button again.
A factory reset deletes all user codes and reverts programming to default settings. Manual key operation is required until new codes are programmed.
Add/Change Programming Code
This feature allows programming without access to the interior programming button, useful for landlords.
- A programming code (4-8 digits) can be saved. It cannot be the same as any user code.
- Once enabled, the interior Program button is disabled for programming (only for factory reset).
To Program with Programming Code: Follow programming steps WITHOUT pressing the interior Program button; use the Programming Code instead.
To Enable Programming Code:
- Remove interior cover. Press Program button.
- Press '0'.
- Press Program button.
- Enter the desired Programming Code (4-8 digits).
- Press Program button again.
To Disable Programming Code: Follow the same steps to re-enter the existing Programming Code.

Troubleshooting ?
- Lock not responding: Install fresh batteries. Check user code and retry.
- Lock not unlocking/locking smoothly: Clear any jams. Ensure strike and door jambs do not obstruct the bolt.
- System errors (e.g., RED flashes): Review programming steps. Retry factory reset if necessary.
